Help me understand, were Jesus's words uncreated, in the same way as the uncreated light?

If the uncreated light of the transfiguration was uncreated, then how about the words that Jesus spoke? The only difference between sound and light is the speed at which they travel according to physics; How should I understand this from a EO view and how would non-EO explain this such as Roman Catholics. thanks

the Uncreated Light isn’t the same thing as visible light, it’s just the best way to describe the experience. the Uncreated Light has no speed, since it just is. Christ’s actual spoken words (as in, the sound) are created since they come from created vocal cords.

The uncreated light of the Transfiguration in Eastern Orthodoxy is viewed as a profound manifestation of God's divine presence, distinct from anything created. This light represents a direct experience of God's essence, transcending the physical realm.

In this context, the words spoken by Jesus during the Transfiguration can be understood as a blend of His humanity and divinity. While the words themselves are part of the created order—spoken in a specific moment in time—the truth behind them reflects His divine nature. Essentially, the message carries an eternal significance, rooted in the uncreated.

From a Roman Catholic perspective, the focus might shift to the Incarnation, where the divine Word (Logos) becomes human. In this view, Jesus' spoken words act as a connection between the divine and the human. They hold divine authority, yet they emerge from His human experience. The Catholic understanding often highlights the sacramental quality of both light and word, seeing them as vessels of grace.

Speed is not the only difference between sound and light. They are different things. The works of God are more glorious and multitudinous than we can comprehend.
