my computer most of the time won't let me close IE so pop-up ads come and come then when I try to close one with task manager and it either closes all of them or all but a few. another thing most of the time my tap and delete key won't work, they work for like the first few times then stop. does anyone know what's wrong?

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To close window instances you can hit Alt-F4 instead of task manager.
Head over to Google for the Google Toolbar , that'll stop the popups, and make it real easy to find things.

I have google tolbar but it doesn't block everything and I've tried Alt-F4 it just makes a ding sound just like when I push the X or double-click the thingy in the top left corner

Also, a repair of IE may be in order, in windows NT, IIRC, it can be done through the add/remove programs window.
Possibly a hardware issue. The keyboard may be broken. Swap it with a known working keyboard. If it is not the keyboard, reinstall any special driver you may have for the keyboard. If that doesn't work, run a virus scanner, if it doesn't pick up anything, try and repair windows. I'd suggest that if you have windows XP/2000 that you roll the system back to a date that you know when it was working properly. If that doesn't work, the windows install CD should be able to run some repairs (I've never used it, so I don't know if it is effective or not).

Well I would try a new keyboard but I'm on a laptop 
I'll try another pop-up blocker but one time a window poped up and said I had something instaled that made pop-ups what's that

wait a second. Is the pop-up a normal IE window, or does it look more like an alert box?
If it looks like an alert box, then you have a different piece of spyware on your computer. You need to disable the windows messaging serivic (I think that's what it's called, I'm on a comptuer at work right now, so I cannot verify that's the name). Also, download and run ad-aware.
You should be able to connect an external keyboard to the laptop. There most likely is a port on the back for an external mouse or keyboard. But it depends on the make/model of the laptop.

The google bar should be stopping the pop-ups you encounter on the web, minus the occasional ones here and there, so I'm tempted to think that pop-ups are coming from spyware. If ad-aware turns up nothing, there's always the good ol' standby of resintalling windows.
My setup of Windows XP with ad-aware, EMS free surfer, and AVG anti-virus seems to keep me well protected against annoying things like spyware, pop-ups and wayward virii. Setting up a firewall is helpful too. XP/2000 should come with a built in one that you can enable.

Get crazybrowser it kills popups good and is just like IE but lite and faster.. disbale java script when you browse then you wont get browser hijacked any question just message me
