  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've done some work with a vet, but I don't think I could do it myself (although I always wanted to be one)

Upside:
helping animals and their people

Downside:
having to put animals down or being unable to treat them...

Hmm... sorry, I'm no help...

I've worked part time at a vet clinic for the past 3 years and these are the ups and downs i've noticed

Ups:
You get to work with a bunch of animals all the time
you can help animals live a longer, happier life
its a lot of fun

downs:
Crazy work hours
you have to be around all the time incase there is an emergency
not being able to help an animal
dealing with stupid owners
having to put animals to sleep

should i be a vet when i finish school i really want to be
can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvantages??

Well, you have to go through a lot of the same long, grueling training that doctors do. And different animals, of course, have different personalities, so the job can be tough to handle sometimes. But most vets I've known have been very happy with their job, and who could blame them? Helping to heal cute, sick animals every workday probably beats most jobs!
