First you need to start looking at Luther in Germany, you'll probably find that alot of Germany kings took up protestantism basically because it meant they didnt have to send as much money to the Pope.

In Germany its a real from the ground up movement where as the reformation in England came from the top and its dabated if it was widely wanted or not.

The English reformation is pretty clear cut for dates however the country wasnt really converted.
