• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I've been very depressed in my life several times. I know that "the truth will set you free". What I mean by that is you really have to look at life and see what is causing you pain and sorrow. You also have to be of a "sober mind". By this I mean not only drugs and alcohol but we have to look at things objectively. I have to also look at what my thoughts are doing to my perspective of life and myself esteem. If I think negitively I will feel negitively. I had to also build a possitive environment around me as much as possible. One possitive thing can be a Christian forum but it's only one piece of the puzzle. A "good" church is also important with good bible instruction and mature christians who can give you good imput. Also possitive family and friends. I limit all negitive people. Also good sound professional counseling. And all of these things can be backed up with prayer.

You've asked for help- you obviously don't want to do it - so DON'T.

That's terribly insensitive and could end up being tragic. There are dynamics and issues that obviously you have little knowledge about. Sharing for the first time can be a terrifying experience for people who have been repeatedly abused.

God can turn the ugliest things into good - I pray that He opens your eyes to how He can do that.

what`s with the insensitivity? If she was at the point of wanting to kill herself, and this forum is her last hope, with insensitivity like that it could make her do it.

Psalm 23, for Angel

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me,
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.

Hope you are going Ok angel jazz. Hope you have someone you can talk to outside of these forums. Perhaps a counsellor or good friend of family member. I know what it is like to struggle with those thoughts and its not fun at all. Keep praying and seeking God, even if you feel he is not there for you. Many people in the bible struggled with similar feelings. Here's a few verses from Psalms that come to my mind.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" Psalm 34:17

"The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. "
Psalm 145:13-14

"The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them".
Ps 145:17-19

Sending a prayer up for you. Take good care.
