If you want a publisher to do it for you, I would recommend checking with PublishAmerica. They publish many books, and you don't have to pay to get published, but you will have to do your advertising yourself. They also get publishing rights to your work for 7 years.

If you want to format it yourself and just get it published, I would recommend checking out CafePress or Lulu Press. Neither of these options have to cost any money upfront, though you do have to pay if you want an ISBN or to register your copyright. Lulu will also help format your manuscript if you are unsure how to format it for book printing.

I have written several Christian short stories, but I don't know how to format them for publishing. and cannot afford to pay anyone to help. I don't know if any Publisher would even consider them. I have thought about printing them myself on the computer, but I cannot find an inexpensive way to construct a good looking book.
What type of format are you interested in, if you wanted to do it yourself? My Aunt pubishes her children's stories through a publisher and uses the spiral-type binding process which is rather expensive through the publisher, but which Office Max or Office Depot does cheaper. You can make a "master copy" and print it yourself at a lower cost, and have them bind each copy you print.

You can also go the format of a chapbook, center-stapled binding which is much much cheaper. Your computer program if you have Word and or your printer options will change the page print to portrait and will do collating as well.
The two stores I mentioned will collate and print for you from a master copy- but that is also something you can do yourself. I used to use my own paper and that lowered the price as well. (since I bought reams cheaper at another store than theirs...lol)
I used to do that when I published my zine, and had them available on consignment with the Tower Books in my area.

By the way - if you go to church, you can make this book into the spiral bound type through a publisher that helps with the printing if the book is being used as a fundraiser. You'd have to check the community services in your neighborhood - as where I live, they had a recipe book make that was sponsored by various neighborhood businesses.

lastly - if you're near a library - check out last year's editions of Writer's Market - or see if they have the new edition available for reference; they had a whole list of Christian publications; magazines and small presses as well - a lot of which would accept short stories

anyone of them may have links to other sites if you don't have access to a Writer's Market.

This is excellent info. I remember when I was about fifteen or so, someone recommended that you start a non-profit organization before getting published. I don't remember the rest of our correspondence, but I'm glad I stopped by here. I'm currently working on a non-fiction piece, and have thought about publishing a collection of my poetry. I believe my main issue is my perfectionism. It's hard to communicate what I envision. (and I call myself a writer. ha!)
