  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, my name is Ricky. I’ve been a Christian since I was I middle school. But I don’t remember the exact moment and date I was saved. Our little baptist church we attended as a family and where I got saved grew and grew into a non-denominational mega church in a matter of a couple years. I had bad experiences with the church in high school when it grew like that. At that point I wouldn’t say I lost my faith but rather just stopped taking God seriously and stopped reading and praying.

Then the year I turn 23, I met a girl, who 1 year later turned into my wife. I started attending a little Baptist church where her grandfather preached. He was a man who lived for God like one I’ve never seen. If he wasn’t sleeping or working, he was dug into his Bibles. He didn’t use commentaries and read few materials that was not a Bible, but would rather have multiple Bibles opened at a time to seek his own references. He read and studied like this from the ages of 26 to his late 50s.

The year 2016 he suffered a massive stroke and never fully recovered. So we started having church at his home and there were between 5-10 of us consistently over the course the next 4 years. It turned more into an open Bible study. Our leader quit to join another ministry in late 2020 and I took the role of leading Bible studies which challenges me quite a bit.

then just a month ago, my wife’s grandfather passed away due to another massive stroke. I’ve struggled for a bit how a man like him who preached like no other and loved God more than anyone else I’ve ever met, that God let him go like that.

But here we are, and we haven’t had church since. I’m hoping in this community I can be able to engage. I’ve noticed this is quite an active forum which another reason I’m excited to engage in. If you’ve read this far well nice to meet you!

It happens. My own grandfather was a man of God, brought low by a stroke, and eventually passed.

Nice to meet you. Consider online streaming church services as well, the pandemic is a great time to discover the teaching side of many churches.

hello, nice to meet you as well. Sorry to hear of your grandfathers passing. Are there any biblical preachers that post their messages online or in podcast that you would suggest?
