• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thank you so much for that post! Reading that really blessed me. In my stage with all of this, I have really only started coming out of the worst fears and anxieties in the last month or so. It is like a new stage of healing, and sometimes it kind of scares me. I know it shouldn't but everyone who heals wants to make sure it stick, and not fall hard on their face again. That is where faith is of utmost importance.
I will be keeping you in mind during my personal prayer times. Even though I can tell you are hurting right now, its a blessing to see you so optimistic. That is the Holy Spirit urging you onward in the power of Christ. Its amazing how in trials how a true believer has so much optimism in the Lord, and a non believer is just consumed by the storms of life. God is definitely the difference maker. Keep pressing on in the Lord and you will pull through. I'm also glad to see that you can confide in your wife. The Lord knows how much my wife has helped me from drowning. I realized not only the power of the HS can keep us in faith, but those around us also that are walking for Him.

Wow. Reading your story was like reading my own except that I have never had the support in my husband that you seem to have in your wife. What a blessing for you. I'm sure it will make all the difference. I came to the point you are at not long ago. One of the ways the enemy kept his hold me for so long was that he kept me in hiding. He shamed me into believing I couldn't share this with anyone. I had to pretend and just hope that no one found out the truth. This kind of darkness is where the enemy works out his greatest deception. If he can keep you in hiding, he can do is work uninterrupted and pull you deeper and deeper into his lies until it becomes your reality and you don't know what "normal" is anymore. God has shined His light of truth on you to bring you out of that trap. Coming on here is one of the best decisions you could have made. God brought me here just two weeks ago, and I have been so blessed in those two weeks I cannot tell you. Keep walking forward like you are, and ask God each day to show you His truth. I find that walking in faith with the Lord, and I am still learning this myself:), is like walking down a darkened path, and you have a flashlight that illuminates only the part of the path that you are on. Behind you there is darkness and the path ahead of you is dark as well because He doesn't want you to live in the past anymore (that is where guilt and regret come in), and he doesn't want you to live in the future because He has not yet given you the strength for what lies ahead, and you are not yet equipped for it. He wants you to take one step at a time, that one step which is all that is illuminated for the moment. And once you have learned to trust Him there, He illuminates the next step. It's a long road, so don't be too hard on yourself. Remember, God works slow because He works from the inside out. His change is permanent. Don't let the enemy discourage you into believing it is hopeless. As long as you are a child of God, there is ALWAYS hope because His spirit is in you. God bless you in your journey:)
