I have a question.... I use to go to a church called "Plainfield Apostolic"...it was a "oneness" pentacostal church...... are "oneness" churches common? because I don't see where they are listed here.

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saved the original statement by Erwin at the top of the ruleset and bolded it so people knew ahead of time who this particular subforum was for. The ruleset has since changed some, but the core beliefs stayed the same that everyone involved gave input on.

The site used to have this Creed posted but I don't see it now. It is used here as a standard for different denominations to adhere to. If a denomination does not adhere to it, they are then considered unorthodox.

Short answer is the early church made a formal statement of certain basic beliefs and called it the Nicene Creed. Since then , many church groups refer to it as a good basic foundation for Christian beliefs.
