• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been trying to decide which board in the mental health ones to post under...I could post on the BPD, Anxiety,Depression, self esteem, ocd, and self injury boards and of course this and decided to post here. I am pretty new to CF, 33,married. I have the dx of bipolar 2, bpd, ocd, I deal with a lot of anxiety. I am what I call a recovering self harmer..has been over a year now. I am the most stable I have ever been in my life..this past year has been a real blessing for me. At times I do not know if I should tell Christians of my disorder...as that has gone really bad in the past so was very happy to see a section here for those of us who deal with this issues. I wanted to say I am here before I started replying to threads. Anyone who ever wants to chat feel free to send me a message :)

F.R.O.G. = Fully Rely On God. :) Always a good thing to keep in mind!!

And welcome to the BP board, searchingforpeace! Glad to see a new face around here - of course. :) I'm not around a ton, but when I am, I've always been amazed at how lovely the people here are. Supportive and kind.

You are allowed to post in other boards, and make them your 'homes' as well... I usually am in the ED board, but come to this one and the depression board as well - I'm a recovered self-harmer as well (okay, so I'm not yet a year cut-free [today is day 340!] and I still SI once in awhile... but... :sorry: ), and the SI board is okay, but not madly active. And I've never been to the anxiety board yet. :p But I'm sure that there are lovely people there too - this site seems to abound with them!!

Anyway, that got lengthy - I hope you find the support and encouragement that you need here! If you want to talk, I'm always available. That goes for anyone else in here as well. :)

Well we found out that I am BPII and have had such a burden for people that are Bipolar and their families since Jan when we found out. Well God had to move us from one church to another to be able to start things. Well we go to a great church and We have a great Pastor and we just started the ministry about 2 weeks ago its mission is to help people with Bipolar and there families. Hi BipolarBear :) Thanks for the welcome. Yes not so good days do come and I don't think they will ever go away, but that is ok :) God is there for me and I need to remember that at all times.
On your cute little CF Pet it says "Just F.R.O.G" what does that mean?
There are two sayigs I make myself remember when I am low. From the Bible, written umteen times, "This to shall pass" and bad situations are only temperary.

About my pet, I am so glad you asked! :) Over the last two years two things have just come to me, like blessings from heaven. "God only has us waly throught today once," and I later realized "Our walk is never alone," and second... My pet's full name is Just Fully Rely On God! :) So just Frog! :)

Hi,
Could you give any references for those? I can't seem to find any.

Some that I've found helpful:
John 16:33
Romans 8:18
Romans 8:28
1 Peter 1:3-7

Edit: sorry I thought we were on another thread regarding those Scripture references but I'll leave them there

Just read on Job, I wish I had the zeal that Job did for the Lord. I read something that is hard for anyone to do. In the message Bible I read The Lord Give and takes away. Then job said we thank God for the Good days why not thank him for the bad days. Oh Lord help me to do that.:prayer: :prayer:

It can be hard to remember to thank God for the bad days. So much easier to thank him when things are good. But it is out of those bad days, at least for me, that I tend to learn more about myself, God, and how to deal with my struggles. Sounds like Job has a lot of lessons for us :) Think today I will start reading there.

I have started reading and studying the book of Job this morning. I am using the New American Standard version.
I just read something Job said that I have found to be very powerful " Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity? " A very powerful statement indeed.

A refrence to which part? The "this too shall pass", or the "God only has us walk this day once, our walk is never alone"... The last one just poped into my head sometime ove rthe last year and a half ish like a blessing from heaven, so I have no Bible refrence for it, nor do I have a Bible refrence for Just F.R.O.G's name. It too Just came to me one day. :)
