Hello everyone, I am a backslidding christian who is trying to get right with the Lord. I am not sure whaether I am still saved or not. I want to be.

I am looking for a local church, bible studies and a group of Christians (on and off line) to help me grow in Christ. I know without the support of Christians around me, I will never stay right with God.

I have backslidding for many years, and I am not sure if I am still saved. I have had people tell me that I have lost my salvation, and other people tell me that once you are saved it is permanent. I even had someone tell me that I am lost without hope for I sinned an unforgivable sin by turning by back to God. I am really confused here and would appreciate some feedback, so I know what I have to do to get right with God. Thank You.

While I don't know about whether someone can lose their salvation, I do know that NO ONE is lost without hope until they die.

that is the 'once saved always saved' issue that is being debated endlessly..

think about it, if a person said he believes in God but later rejects God outright, then that person has definitely fallen away. Remember the parable of sower?
so by backsliding, does that mean you're not saved? not really. Backsliding is just the process in christian maturation. Many christians backslide, but many more climb back up and got a firm footing instead. I think your issue has more to do with 'the process of becoming Holy/christlike'.
