Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post and intro, so if it's not I apologize ahead of time. Anyway, I was just surfing the internet and found this website. Amazingly I found a forum dedicated to Lutherans, which will still fascinate me even in the morning. It's hard for me to keep in touch with people at my church and stay focused on the Word when I'm 10000 miles away from home. So, I would really like to hang out on here from now on for some good fellowship. Blessings on you all and take care.

Thank you for the warm to all. It truly is a comfort having this here. It's near impossible to have a good, deep religious conversation with someone without getting persecuted. Just goes to show that Christ is coming soon. Not soon enough though. :-( But anyway, thank you for the welcome. And BoC and Jim..it's truly an honor.

I was able to speak with my son, who is also in Iraq, yesterday. He was excited that he should be able to attend some Holy Week services. He is an LCMS Pastor's Kid and is kind of finicky about where he attends himself. I will be interested to hear of any services he attends. Until now, his work schedule hasn't been very conducive to worship attendance. I forget to ask him if he has found any Lutherans where he is located.

Yeah, your son and I both in it together I guess, wish him luck for me. I didn't get to attend a single service, but I did get to watch some of them online because my church back home has them on their website. The Grace of God truly is everywhere. Easter morning I was on a mission and even as soon as I woke up my heart just felt the peace and joy of Christ. It was an incredible experience.

As it turns out, my son was also on a mission on Easter. He gets frustrated that his schedule does not allow him to get to worship.

I have also learned that at his place, they are adding a liturgical sevice.

Okay, sounds like the two of us are in the same boat. It would be very nice to go to a liturgical service.
