• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello Everyone,

I have just come from 9 months in a Christian Drug and Alcohol regeneration program :amen: . I have setup a load of Accountability and have plans to share my testimony with others in need. I have to readjust to life on the outside. At Dunklin :groupray: , I lived in a safe environment and learned much about myself and my addiction. I learned the difference between rehabilitation and regeneration.
I learned how the only way out of my addiction is through my savior Jesus Christ.

Now I am sure that I will encounter many temptations and "Firey Trials"

Please pray for strength and persistance as I use what I have learned to continue my walk with Christ, staying clean and sharing his love.

Thank you for your message, I have been out in the "jungle" (AKA the real world) now for just under two weeks. I have been blessed abundantly, yet there are times when I feel very much alone. I am used to having 75 other brothers and sisters around that I could share with, and ask for prayer. Now that I am home, that number is much much smaller.. and at times doubt creeps in. I miss all of my family but need to step up for the Lord and be strong. You message reminded me of that, blessed me, and renewed my purpose.

Hi....
Living in the main streem of life is not easy.
But it can be done.If I did it ,you can to.

I started helping other in AA and NA,I was sponsoring others, and it kept me going in the right direction.

Giving rides, visiting those that called NA,or AA.Your able to get on the list to make house calls...we went in 2's.

I did what I could to carry the message to others.I did it for me.And God blessed me for it.

We are to carry the message where ever possible, and give away freely what was freely given to us.So that we may keep what e have.

Stick with the winners, even if its just 1 .
You do what you can to speak at meetings, and visit other groups.

To grow ...we must step out of our comfort zone.We do our part ...
and God will do the rest.

What ever you do...
"Do it sober"

Just show up......

You will make it....

Hello my name is Brian and I am an alcoholic,

Congratulations on your sobriety and dedication to getting better. I spent 1 1/2 years in a rehab facility and got out in July of 2005. I have just celebrated my 2 year sobriety on the 3rd of May. I praise God for guiding you and saving you from addiction. It will be a long hard road, but as long as you have support you should be ok.

I find it amazing how much you can learn about yourself when you let God take over. I learned a new way of life and I would not trade it for anything! Way to go brother!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to accept the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference, Amen

In His Service,
Brian
