My name is Courtney and I have been out of the industry for about 10 years...I am a former stripper, escort and inappropriate content model. My husband is a former strip club manager (of 16 years). We have a nephew that is still in the industry and so is his fiance. We still have many friends that are still in. Both my husband and I are Christian now.

Never until today, in fact I am still engrossed in the stories like yours in the Harmony site. I was only able to get thru a third of them today because of my uncontrollable crying after reading each one. I'm so used to hearing stories from co-workers that are similar but without hope and as I'm the one always keeping them full of hope I could never NOT be strong. Until today that is, I was able to take in each story and be Given hope. What a wonderful God we have. I always knew He was my source even in the absence of evidence and today such evidence appeared.
I too was molested by my father whom I had never met until age 10, joined a missionary church full time until 16, then was sent back home with no explanation.
It broke my heart and found myself a runaway and engaged and married before I turned 16 to a 21 year old whom I will refer to as Jon.
Had my son at 19, my daughter at 22, divorced my emotionally abusive "civil engineer" officer husband at 25 whom I wanted nothing from but my kids.
Went back home to support my mother and little brother whom had just gotten kicked out of projects by escorting for abusive agency.
My ex husband kidnapped my kids and relocated to hawaii only to 9 months later allow me my daughter in exchange for full custody of my son, then 8. He was told I abandoned him and did not want him.
My son was allowed back to me at age 12, because he insisted and stopped believing the lies.
I have no idea how I have gotten this far. I feel if it wasn't for the grace of God and my love for my children, I would have probably gotten involved in soo much more, like drugs or worse.
I've never allowed myself to dwell on much because I had kids that needed my complete attention.
Now my son is 20, in the army and going thru a divorce.
My daughter 17 lives with her dad because high school there is exemplary, by the way she declared herself an athiest to me a few years back.
I began to become an independent escort on sites after they moved away, I don't look my age.
But have discovered a link recently which exposed my sin in occult and sex industry.
I feel convicted to stop, my friend and cousin do also.
I had also fallen into the occult without realizing it and have thrown away hundreds of dollars of items not worth mentioning the moment my eyes were open.
That's when I reached out and have been praying for outreach and then I found you.
I have mixed feelings since this industry allowed me to provide for my family, but feel that a steep price was paid as well, my soul, dignity, self respect.
But even at my lowest point, and I had many I always felt God watching over me. Maybe waiting for me to allow Him control.
I'm ready to do that now, which is why I need your support.

Being a Mom as well the parts of your story that really touched me are where you talk about the dedication you have to your children! Also, the fact that you too were molested by your dad and married young...I relate! I am so sorry you have been through so much. I am so glad you found us though.

I know what you mean about hearing stories of other women over and over but without hope... I also know what you mean about reading the stories on Harmony's site and seeing and finding HOPE! I would encourage you to contact Harmony via the Treasures website. She is an amazing woman with an amazing ministry. Treasures will send you a care package that you will really enjoy! You may also want to check out Shelley Lubben's website if you get a chance. She is also an amazing Christian woman that has worked as an escort and also worked in inappropriate content.

I will be here for you. I wish there was a ministry in your area too. I really do. Finding a church that you feel comfortable in is always a good start. I know that several of the women on our forum have found help through their local churches.

I too was involved in the occult and I know Paula (New Creation) was too (even more than I) when we were in the industry. I was mainly into psychics and New Age type of stuff. Paula was Wiccan if I am not mistaken. God can overcome all of it! It takes time and trust.... I am still a work in progress myself.

Thanks again Court, I will be attending 2 churches this coming Sunday, 1 non_denominational and 1 baptist, I Trust God will lead me to the right one.

Know how important this forum is for girls in industry, and keep doing what you're doing. One of the stories I read from a wonderful woman in the website where your story is posted gave these steps which I found to be useful and which you are practicing:
The steps to being changed from the inside out are:
1. Willingness – to really want to get better in that area in your life
2. Submission – to Jesus Christ as Lord, knowing He does all things well
3. Commitment – to follow through 100%, don’t give up when it gets tough
4. Support – build up a network of people you can trust, you need them!
5. Return – give back to others the help and knowledge that has been given to you
I hope to take each step seriously and come back one day to give back.
