First off, thank you to the CF for allowing me to become a member.

A little about me..

My name is Matt, 33, Divorced, father, live alone, have rarely, if ever, practiced my faith.
I've struggled with my faith since I would say, day one of adopting being a Christian. Realities of human nature, and experience of such, has made it very very difficult to fully embrace being a Christian.

I am one to want the truth and understanding before I fully commit to most anything. That, has what as made it hard for me to embrace something based off of faith.

I believe that GOD exists, at least that's what I tell myself.
The bigotry and Hippocrates I have seen and been around had made it very hard for me to put any effort in becoming a member of a physical Church. The ones I have attended, by force (as a child) and choice; I have seen so many say and act one way within the walls, then outside completely change when they leave. So my ability to rely on them to help in my time of need, is, difficult.

I don't believe, we has humans can truly be perfect while practicing our Faith, but at least I hope most try.



Anyway, why I am here..

As I've said I have struggled my entire life, and never really believed someone within the Church could help. I was showering earlier, and like all great things happen in the shower, either I, or something else told me to try to use an online Forum to ask for help.

So here I am.

I am lost, in faith, and life.. I ask for direction and words for encouragement, and understanding while I navigate to find GOD within myself..

Hi Matt, I hope this post finds you well. I too was brought up in church and have grown to see a lot of hypocrisy within the church. I also believe it is natural and an intelligent process to observe and ask questions. Once, I too questioned Christianity but I then decided to read the Bible to know Christ and to follow His example for myself and not base my belief in Him on the actions of others. Since I've adopted this attitude toward Christianty I have found that I really do believe in Jesus and His message. However, I no longer put faith in any person, even those in the church. Hope you will be encouraged to seek Christ out alone and find a relationship with Him makes life worth living.

Matt ,that very last part is a prayer in itself. Ask God for (wisdom, understanding, guidance and strength) "ask and you shall recive". In time, all that will come to you, if you keep praying and keep your faith, no matter what your life situation may be. God knows your place, as far as our life situations... It all depends on how we take it and look at them. This could be a test to build you up for something great, perhaps it has lead you to God. We never know his plan, one thing to always keep in mind is that he's constantly working in our lives. He is alwsys on time, anything can happen by the power of God!
