I'm not sure why I signed up here, since I wouldn't really call myself a christian by any stretch of the word. But I'm in a dark place right now and christians are such wonderful people from my experience. There must be some sort of correlation with the doctrines Í imagine.

I just want to be happy and not so scared or anxious all the time. I don't know, perhaps I'm in the wrong venue, I just don't know.

Welcome to Christian Forums, LostAndInsecure. You need to understand something. The Lord created us, and he created a spiritual paradise for us. The paradise requires we love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves. (Matthew 22:34-40). It's yours for the taking.

It is wonderful that you have decided to look into it! I can tell that you have a mind keen on understanding and able to say that you have learned something new.

I noticed you have honed precisely on a core aspect of your disconnect: that your imagination of the doctrines possibly does not fully correlate to the genuine essence of the faith. In fact, when Jesus says in Revelation 2:7 "to the one who overcomes, I will give to eat of the tree of life", that is a large part of the struggle - to overcome long-held misunderstandings, because sometimes it can be tempting to stay the way we are.

But seeing you're interested in understanding things and seeking knowledge, I'd like to share with you this booklet about The Gospel that covers a range of central topics, showing what scriptures have to say in regards to them. If you take your time to think deeply upon how those scriptures are relevant to those topics, by the end of that you will have a much better idea of where to go from there.

Hi, and welcome to CF.

Look near the top of the screen - you should see a blue bar with symbols. The one that looks like lightning - click on it. That will show you any threads you have posted in that someone has posted in after you.

If nothing pops up, double click it and it will take you to a page with all your older notifications. It will also tell you about people liking your posts, quoting you, writing a message on your profile page, or following you.

If no one posts after you, it won't come up there, but that's the easiest way to keep track.

(These settings can all be changed, but if you don't do anything that's what you should get.)

And welcome to CF. This thread has gotten confusing, but I don't want you to get lost as a result. Looks like @Southernscotty wants to talk to you?
