  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey everyone. My name is Robby and I am 18 years old, a pretty good gamer, and have several RTS Games that I own. I enjoy the Age of Empires II Games, StarCraft, and also have Unreal Tournament (turn violence/gore OFF! though).

Anyway, we got Fallout Tactics for a steal-of-a-price $5.00 and it is an amazing game. Just turn the violence/gore level to none and you will be fine. The game is not a FPS, it is a RTS and tactical squad based game. It even has maps for online play, but the single player storyline has me interested right now.

It is great fun. A single mission can take hours (although I cannot play such missions in one sitting - too much on my brain :D). Anyone hear of this game? If you haven't, get onto google and search it. You won't be disappointed. Does anyone know of other games like fallout tactics?

It's worth the purchase too :)

Anyway, can't wait for your comments,
Robby :D

Have you played Fallout 1 & 2? Fallout 1 is the best, although 2 isn't far behind. They are both hilarious in dialogue (if you make a character that is witty), and pretty fun.

You should be able to find both copies in bargain bins somewhere real cheap. Definitely worth the purchase. Wish I could try Tactics, on the look out for it. :D

I just reloaded FT about a month ago. Great game, tactical, sarcastic. The only part I didn't like were the random encounters (scorpions, etc) when travelling.

I wish they would have made a mission designer for that game - it would be great to make missions for others to play.

Finally, thank you for the replies. I appreciate it :)

Yes, I have heard of Fallout 1 and 2. Are they good graphics, compared to fallout tactics? Bececause FT is incredible graphics, it has a day and night cycle, and can run on my low-end computer. Amazing game.

I have seen it at Wal-Mart and thanks for letting me know about the tip. Might be on the look out for it ;)

With Fallout Tactics, Kelly, they do in fact have a Map Editor. You just have to unlock it. It depends on when you got Fallout Tactics though. I just got it about two months ago. So, it came with the map editor and I unlocked it, made a map, and it had a night cycle. Most impressive map editor I have seen.

I am pretty sure you can download it from the internet too. Just search for it or go under your Windows Exlorer, then find Program Files, 14 Degrees East, Fallout Tactics, Map Editor README. It should have instructions to install it. If you don't have the map editor readme, you might have to download the map editor from the internet.

Thanks a bunch for the replies. Good to see gamers who know of Fallout Tactics. Hey Kelly, ever played Fallout Tactics over the internet? We could play sometime.

Thanks,
Robby

tactics is the only version I played. I heard that originally, Fallout was supposed to use a computer version of Steve Jackson Games GURPS (Generic Universal Role Playing System) but at the last minute something fell through. It still has a very strong p&p feel.

i fyou find any of the jagged alliance games, by the now defunct sir-tech(makers of the wizidry series of RPG's) they are exactly liek fallout tactics, but instead of a post apocalytic future, tehy are in a island dictator setting(think cuba). but hte gameplay is practicly identical. it's my understanding that mechwarrior cammando's is also just liek this game, but i'm not sure so get a review before you purchace, if you relly liek this type of game, i liek how you can switch from real-time to turn based, lots of fun, BTW, i found this forum loknig for user maps, anyone seen any?
