  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi, I'm new. My name is Tara and I am 26. I am an English teacher, married with no children as of yet, my husband is Muslim and I am Christian, there are no conflicts between us because we each respect the other's religion. I am also a grad student going for my master's degree in secondary education. In fact, I only need 3 more hours to graduate. I am a bit shy and only have a few friends in real life. I think I need to build my self-esteem. I am interested in literature, movies, and inspirational quotes. My big thing is please be nice because I have been harassed before on another message board and I didn't like it. I haven't been to church in awhile, but I have been thinking about getting involved again. I recently volunteered at a local charity and it was very inspiring. I look forward to making new Christian and non-Christian friends.
