I've always been in love with fantasy stuff, but mostly the classics, LOTR, etc. I don't read modern fantasy...after LOTR, it all seems like poorly written wannabe stuff to me.

So...LOTR got me obsessed with fantasy as a kid. About 7 years ago, I discovered online fantasy RPG's and got hooked. It was a way to practice my writing skills and let my imagination go anywhere I wanted.

In 2004, my then b/f told me about getting HIS book published, and suggested I try an idea of my own. I hadn't WRITTEN a book, and as a kind of smartarse, I made up a chapter off the top of my head and sent it to a publisher. They wrote back and said they wanted to publush my book. WHOOPS! I asked them to give me a 3 month extension on the deadline and I wrote HARD and FAST lol.

So...while the book has a heavy influence from my RPG's...it's a compilation of many factors that dwell within my warped head.

Well, the only positive thing I can say about it is that it does wonders for your self-esteem. Reading a terrible piece of crap like Eragon really helps you feel better about your own writing.

Have you seen Star Wars, AlleyCat? If you've seen Star Wars and read LOTR you already know the entire plot of Eragon anyway.

Haha...that's so funny-slash-ironic. How cool! From what I glimpsed online it looks like something I'd like to read someday...
