• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This forum is for Anglicans in Communion with the Holy See of Canterbury as well as those Anglicans who are members of Independent and/or "Continuing" Anglican denominations. We also are the official home of the Old Catholics, as they are in Full Communion with the Anglican Communion.

And I would like to officially welcome you to STR! We have some other Independent Anglicans posting here and all three (Anglicans, Independent Anglicans, and Old Catholics) have, for pretty much the whole part, have gotten along splendedly. We simply ask that all sides respect the opinions of others, celebrate our mostly common ground, and not try to call anyone "schismatic," "un-Anglican," "pagan," or anything like that (though I have a feeling you'll have no problem with that ;)).

So enjoy your stay; I hope we get to hear some truly insightful and inspiring posts from you. Oh, and my gift:

**Gives the newcomer a basket of assorted pastries, gormet coffees and hot chocolates, and a veggie tray with dip**

aaww, gee thanks everyone! I feel so welcome now. I know this will sound sappy (and believe me, I'm rarely a sappy woman), but my eyes just teared up reading how warm and welcoming you all have been. I've come here from a board that is currently enforcing an anti-catholic policy. I really guess I hadn't noticed how negatively it was affecting me until I see how welcoming everyone here has been.
Thank you, you all have made my evening!

I knew I liked you for a reason!
And I knew I'd like you - how many people can pull off Monty Python in an avatar? I stumbled across some "bunny" slippers in a mail order catalog. You guessed it...complete with "sharp nasty teeth", rofl - that rabbit's dynamite!

It was my daughter's catalog, and she's already in bed. I'll check with her in the morning to see what company it was. They were a scream! We both saw them and said the same thing "we gotta get those for dad!" (Dad being my hubby/her dad). He's a Monty Python nut. He's forever quoting lines from the movie at the strangest of times - and he's got our 4 year old doing it. The bridge scene "what is your favorite color"...and I won't even go into the lengthy discourses he has on the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow.

Hey... I just saw those in the 'WHAT ON EARTH?' catalog. It also had the Black Knight (with removable arms/legs) and other Holy Grail stuff.

Oh, those daffy English K-nig-its!!!:D

Yes! That was where it was. I saw the Knight with removable arms/legs too, and nearly fell out of my chair laughing.

I feel silly, sort of, doing this ...because I'm so new here myself, but here goes...

I've brought someone to the forums. My hubby. I suppose I'm intoducing him despite being new myself - which is rather odd. He is connected to the site at the moment, but watching a show on TV (in other words, I'll probably pay for introducing him while he's away, lol). He's far more versed in our faith (denomination) than I am - and to be perfectly honest, it was his faith (belief and trust in God) which brought me back to God.
His name on here is Thurifer.
Hi honey
