  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've been a christian since 2008, regularly go to a charismatic church. I listen to the late great R.C sproul, john mcarthur, Tim keller, Joseph prince, joyce meyer and rt kendall. They conflict each other but I learn a lot from all of them. I just came on here for some advise. A collegue at work is asking a lot of questions and is very open. He is currently in a relationship and is asking about our view on sex before marriage. I said christianity is not about rules and regulations and that God accepts you just as you are. Just wondering if anyone has any advise on how to witness to him.

I wouldn't begin by telling him anything that could be interpreted by him as meaning that God is okay with whatever your friend chooses to do. So your reply could require more than a little tact.

It's true that God accepts penitents, the high and the low, all who acknowledge their sins, who have resolved to do better in the future, and who trust in Our Lord's promises of salvation for all who truly turn to him.

Basically, that would mean your friend would have to make some changes in his daily life, but that God in turn will not turn him away on account of how he lived previously.

Was thinking of sending this quote from Joyce Meyer amplified bible
'Isaiah 9:8-21 cleary illustrates that God can become angry. But it is a righteous anger. When you and I become angry with other people, it usually happens because they did something we did not like or they did not do something we thought they should have done. We also become angry with people when they hurt or offend us. When God gets angry, it is not because of what we are doing to Him; it is because of what we are doing to ourselves by not following His ways. We could even say that His anger is for us and not against us. God's love is everlasting and even His anger and displeasure are intended to drive us away from sin and back to Him. His anger is for a moment, but His favour (mercy) is for a lifetime (see Ps. 30:5).'

Welcome to CF, Simon! Thankful you are here. Hope you stay awhile!!! A lot of fun and fellowship here. The Bible does speak against sex before marriage. This is just one verse in it.

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

God does forgive and wants you to come to Him for anything, but it is sin/adultery.

Any deeper should prolly go in Christian advice as Andrew says. :)

This is what I see from God's Word. Bless you!
