  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

First off, guess youd call me a Christian.....not Jewish though I just feel that someting is missing....at times I feel like Im walking alone without the Lord and then others things seem to be okay. But as hard as I might try to walk the right walk I seem to get easily convicted even though it at times feels like the Holy Spirit is not answering me. I do believe in the Sabbath and understand the different names of Jesus.....believe in the Trinity though dont claim to really understand it. I saw a few of you Messianics on the testimonies page giving advice to Iam Iam which I did myself and figured Id stop in and hopefully someone can explain a bit more of this belief to me.

Welcome! Im a Non-Trin myself. The bottom line is this. Yahshua and the disciples taught the keeping of the commandments of God. That includes the Sabbath. [Yahshua / Yeshua] is Christ actual birth name in Hebrew. In English these days it would be Joshua.

GuardianShua....
Thanks much for the reply....Im just not quite understanding what you mean by you are Non-Trin. As I do believe in the Trinity myself .....though Im not certain of the meanings of it tottaly as it seems pretty complex, though it probably isn't at all once understood. Seems from what Ive read that MJ is just simply Christians who take on quite a bit of the Jewish parts of scripture as long as Christ is always the Messiah as I know there are some who still don't accept that.....I really am just looking for a deeper explanation of MJ as a Christian. Thanks for your reply and look to learn more as I go.

Welcome, Rascus!

We're all living and learning, glad to see you're joining the fun.

Messianic Judaism is a diverse faith group. I liken it to Catholicism and Protestantism in that the MJ movement is turning into an umbrella grouping that contains smaller groups that share a similar space with regards to their relation to the other larger faith groups but differ on background, interpretation, practice, etc. It's quite amazing how an old movement is evolving in a modern context.

I started as a Protestant who became interested in the Hebraic roots of the faith. In that sense, I viewed it as adding "Jewishness" to my faith. Since then, I've left Protestantism as I've adopted a much different paradigm and interpretive framework when it comes to understanding the Scriptures and applying them to my life.

So again, welcome! Hopefully we can have mutually beneficial discussions.
