I can't remember off the top of my head, but it might be in revelation somewhere. The ones who will go to the lake of fire and remain there, alone with their thoughts and sins, are the angels who fell from Heaven.

I find myself hoping that all humans who end up there, their deaths will be swift and painless.

Ok,the doctrine of hell is the hardest part of my faith. Worse than the "evil" question, the "why die for us question" or even the predestination of some souls to hell.

What you ask is to pit our God-given self determination against our inner drive to see our fellow man avoid punishment. Agonizing, and that's why I don't think God presents such a dilemma to us in the Word.

In other words,it's an unbiblical question.

Well that's a tricky question...
since there's alot of great people out there who shouldn't deserve to burn but at the same time there's alot of jerks out there too and if you think I'm sacrificing my butt for those ones you got another thing coming.

Funny thing is, the second death isn't about spending the rest of eternity in damnation.

It's about being totally, completely and utterly destroyed to where there is nothing of you left.

Contrary to what many people teach.

No offense but you're completely wrong.

Revelation 21:8 ~ But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (NIV)

Revelation 20:10 ~ And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (NIV)

It is evident in scripture that the second death is not a quick destruction, but an everlasting torment--- hence the "they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur," and the "They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

And, Revelation 22:18-19 says...

18 For[i] I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add[j] to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away[k] his part from the Book[l] of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

So why would such a thing be said if no one ever was going to do it? Think deeply about those two verses.

Yeah, it would be satisfying to watch people you hate be dipped into the lake of fire. Like you could ask God if you could watch and stuff..

I don't get how this is supposed to prove that the second death is not eternal torment. Eternal damnation and suffering is constantly mentioned throughout both the Old and New Testament. Jesus talked more about hell than he did about heaven. I wish there was no such thing as eternal torment and damnation, but the Bible makes it crystal clear that there is.

I don't see how the verses you mentioned are supposed to support your claim that damnation is not eternal torment.

This is why I said think about it. Think about those two verses, 18-19. What is the meaning of them? That some people have added to, and taken away from the words in the Bible. Which means, not everything you read in it is accurate. I'm sure a lot of it is, but I just get the hunch that some is off. Of course, I also believe the people behind all that will be exposed and the lies revealed.

Ah, and now it becomes clear. Those verses are obviously talking about false teachings and gospels adding and subtracting from Revelation, NOT that the book itself, translated by legitimate Greek scholars, was tampered with. Simply put, you are saying that you do not believe on the bible's accuracy and so pick and chose the doctrines you want to believe.

As I said before, through out the writings of the Old Testament prophets, and throughout the teachings of Jesus, and throughout the books of the New Testament, time and time again damnation is described as eternal suffering with fire. So, according to your logic the entire Bible would've have to of been tampered with and falls for your claim of painless damnation to be true.

The Bible is an all or nothing book, it's not a buffet you can't just pick and choose what you like.

Well theres a motive for getting through the pearly gates then. Get your people to speak to Gods people about Him monopolising on Lake of Fire dipping..someone's missing out on making a few Shekels televising it live to Heavens citizens.

Anyway, I don't think a desire to dip people in moulten fire will be getting anywhere near God.

You could do it with your mates n stuff.

P.S By the way MehGuy, since my calling stuff..'stuff' seems to have become one of my signatures would i be right to deduce that you mean me by the 'people you hate'? If so do you have the guy stuffs to man up and admit to that?

Rather threatening post on reflection.

Uh.. no..

Believe me, if I hate someone I'm usually not shy in letting them know. I'm not very subtle that way, lol..

I do my best not to hate but if I did i'd probably keep it to myself. Mind you i'd say telling someone outright what you think of them is less cowardly than talking behind their backs or circling around a person making thinly vieled bit chy remarks.

I'm glad you don't hate me. I've always found you a bit dark but hilariously funny in all honesty. *shrug*
