Torah is the OT concept of justification by works..

But God did say;

Psalm 14:3
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Isaiah 44:8
Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

where in the bible does it say that time will stop?

Eternal Life is Jesus' Life!
He has no beginning and no end, and is always NOW!

When I was a christian...

No such thing as a "used to be" Christian but please go on.

I used to say that people went to hell because they refused to take Jesus Christ as their savior and therefore could not have a relationship with God. And if you dont have a relationship with God, how could you spend eternity with him?

That isn't what the Bible teaches.

People do not go to Hell because they refused to take Jesus Christ as their Savior, they go to Hell because they've been judged guilty of sin in God's court.

Now it seems to me that a loving God could never create a place like Hell.

How could a just God not create a place like Hell?

For one thing hell goes on forever and ever, which is a great achievement unlike anything in this world. Not even stars can last forever. If God can find a way to keep Hell going on forever without Him being there, couldn't He find a way for all people of earth to want to accept Jesus as their savior?

Then it would only be coercion and not a free choice.

Faith in Christ doesn't come by force but by repentance and faith.

I guess my overall question would be: Why do christians believe God is justified for creating Hell? (other than the fact that he is God)

Because, in addition to being loving, He is also righteous and just.

His righteousness demands that He have a moral code. His justice demands that He punish any violations of that code.

Would you like it when a rapist, murderer, thief and pedophile walk around your house? If he has commited those crimes justice says jail is his just punishment.

Would God like it when a liar, thief, murderer, adulterer, blasphemer, idolator etc walks around His kingdom unrepentant and unchanged? No, justice says hell is the just punishment. If He didn't punish sin, He would be corrupt as God.


Hell is a literal, burning place. Alot of people want to water it down by interpreting it as a 'separation from God' but that's not what Jesus says. Book of revelation makes it clear. Jesus made it clear. Weeping, gnashing of teeth, torment.

God does love us, that's why he's been trying to save us. That's why he commands people to repent and trust in Him. Come to Him for forgiveness, humble yourselves to God, He will heal you and teach you and chastise you so that you won't perish in hell.

is one of my biggest problems with christianity. When I was a christian, my friends used to ask me: why should a person suffer for eternity for about 70 years of sin? I mean, if we get pain in our stomachs when we need food and we get pain in our lungs and chest when we need to breathe in air, shouldn't there be some kind of huge pain that people who haven't accepted Jesus as their savior get? After all, hell is MUCH worse than death.

I did a Deep study about Hell, the lake of fire and and maybe I can shed some light on some question.

The Whole Good and evil battle began sometime before the introduction of mankind and women to the earth. It is my belief that there were dinosours here when this may have happen and Satan was Cast out of Heaven onto the Earth, We were told that by Jesus.

This was a hint from Jesus, Luke 10:17-18 17. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

You ever seen that big whole were a meator was supposed to have hit the Earth and caused the Ice age, I really think it was When Satan was Cast out of Heaven onto the earth like Jesus Said. Here is a second the features of the Face of the Earth right before Mankind was introduced. Genises 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

I don't know how long satan walked the Earth but he was here before mankind was introduced to the Earth. Before the devil was cast out he sinned in heaven. That was why he was Cast out. Isaiah 14:12-16 "
12. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

His pride defile were his position there in the heavenly temple, so this is why you have in our old testaments the mountian God had his presence on, then the ark being carried, then a temple, then Mankind becomes the final temple.
1Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

God knew What Satan would do and he knew mankind would fall all before Satan did all this mess, and he knew that we could never be good enough now that death had infected mankind, death is proof that your a sinner(Romans 5:12 12. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:0.

Since Satan sinned himself Go Created Hell for Satan and his angels only, it was for all that follow the leading attitude of satan, the my way highway. In one statment Jesus made were told why hell was Created. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mankind had a Big Problem, we fell for satans tricks and now we can't be good enough nor do anthing to Help our Self, But God Had his plan and it would be so cool.

His plan would creat a true love that comes from the Heart of Man, Make him pure, give them eteranl life.In Genisis we know Cain killed able and able was accepted by his sacrifice the day he was killed, So since man was tainted he couldn't come to heaven it was defile and dwelt on earth among mankind. God Created a Beautiful place called paridise and all who obey God can go but do your own thing then you must await Judgement day in the place reserved for Satan and his angels. Now we have in the heart of the Earth a placed called paridese and a place called hell.

How did he do it to make us right if all mankind was infected by sin. God with his Power placed His Only Son into A virgin, she never knew a man, so by God passing the mans seed, he bypass the infection sin had on mankind.

He had pure Blood and he was going to give it to buy our price for us, he is the only one to ever have this pure Blood of God His Father, this is Why our Saviour is so important and this is why we all need a saviour.

Will you die one day, then your infected.

When Jesus Paid the price for sin, he took all those who died and were in paridise with him when he arose from the grave,Ephesians 4:8-10 8. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10. He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Hell is a waitng place all punishments are equal for now, but that is until the Judgement Day when your Judge and punished for every evil, tought, word, deed, action.
Jesus said it in matthew 12:36-37 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

this will be the day he judges the world, all who dismissed him as saviour. if you see why he is special he said he'd save and anyone can just ask him to be forgiven. Has he open your eyes to see him for what and who he was.
