  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been witnessing to strangers (almost everyday) out on the streets for about 6 months. One thing that keeps my urgency is a burden in my heart to know what hell is like. I imagine the ungodly and their fate in hell, and i see their cries of regret. Personally it keeps my urgency and gets me motivated to witness and preach to people.

So in this thread i'd like to share with you some descriptions of what hell is like because i think it would be of value for us to know what we're being saved FROM and what we should be doing to keep people away from this place. References from Mary K Baxter's book "Divine revelation to hell." and from a link an awesome sister in Christ gave to me.

If you're not up for heavy stuff it's probably a good idea to not read this thread. It's pretty horrific.

Just a quick summary, Mary (the author) was taken into spirit with Jesus. He took her into hell and has shown her these things so that she could record them in her book. At a couple of points she even experienced being in hell temporarily and for 30 whole nights, Jesus took her again and again to show her the horrors of hell.

ONe aspect of hell is this.

Imagine the ground next to you, is a small pit. maybe 3 feet deep, like a bowl. Imagine a lost soul, all his flesh is gone, his bones are charred and inside his bones is a grey mist, a soul. little worms are all over his bones, everywhere and this soul is clothed in fire, constantly burning. Inside the bowl are red hot coals, and this soul is trapped inside this bowl. Apparently, even though 3 feet deep, if they try to get out, a big demon will push them back in. This soul feels the searing pain from the heat and is totally lost. Surprisingly, he believes in Jesus now, he's repenting from his sins 10000000 times over but no, he is lost for eternity in hell. Nothing can get him out, judgement is set.

Another aspect of hell.

Imagine you being thrown inside a volcano alive and you feel that searing hot magma around your body. Remember there is a worse punishment for those who have believed once and have fallen away. After seeing what Jesus has said, it is not "once saved always saved" kind of a thing. I was wrong when i thought it that way. It is those who CONTINUE in the faith until the end. That's why Jesus warns us to repent and ABIDE in Him. So we too must endure to the end. We mustn't fall away.

Another aspect of hell.

Cells, like prison cells. Always dark people who practice witchcraft end up here apparently. These cells are full of the moans and wailings of the lost. Satanists thinking they would get the kingdom satan promised only get the cells. Satan lies to us on earth, he will lie to us in hell. And even satanists are full of regret and wails in hell. They were ripped off.

There are other aspects but i suggest you read the book mentioned above to get the full story. But these 3 aspects of hell, should put some things into perspective when seeking and saving the lost. I think it's a burden that will continue to motivate me along with the Love of God to save us from this putrid place. As christians, let us also continue to abide in Him and examine ourselves to see if we're in the faith.

If you find a satanist, tell him that the Bloody of Christ can break the bondage of sin. Even if they have signed an agreement with the devil, Jesus' blood can break that power. They can still be forgiven.

Let's keep laboring in the fields.
God bless!

No, this is theologically incorrect. Hell is eternal because people continue to sin, cursing God, blaming Him for them being there, etc, further compounding their judgement. No one in hell is repentant & contrite, this author is dead wrong,

and anyway, once saved, (truly saved, redeemed from sin & hell by Christ's blood) always saved.

& I am a former satanist now am a Calvinist by God's grace

How is this incorrect? I can't think of a verse to back your statement up.

I personally don't believe in this account, but I do believe in the biblical account of hell, and there are horrors enough described.

Can you think of any verses that imply there is repentance & seeking for Christ by those in hell? That's far fetched, while a place of eternal condemnation for eternal sin is Biblical.
Well, the rich man Jesus spoke of who went to hell sounded contrite to me. And also the verse that says every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Christ is Lord kind of implies against your point. And I've never even heard of eternal sin until you mentioned it. Could you give some Scripture to back up the statements you have made to give it some substance?

Yo, I'm only following what Mary saw. Lost souls crying out for help for a drink of water when she and Jesus walked through there.

Not here to debate if she's right or wrong, i'm here to keep that urgency in our hearts to seek and save the lost.

If she's wrong, she's wrong, but there are more pressing matters at hand than to discuss the scriptural nature of this. Oh btw i'll pm you something as well :)

I'm really struggling with the whole concept of hell for starters... but thats for another thread....

What I wanted to outline is that we do not preach the gospel because we don't want people to "go to hell". We preach the gospel because God is Love. We want to point Jesus out to the world. People can be saved right now. They Experience his love right now. Be changed right now. Be in a relationship with Him right now. It's not all about eternal destination which yes may be important, but like the line "on earth as it is in heaven" we want to bring the ways of heaven right here on earth. God is love... we can all testify to that. We want others to receive the blessings that we have of being in a relationship with the one true God

[we do not preach the gospel because we don't want people to "go to hell"]

It's my reason for preaching the gospel. Whatever your reason is, i won't argue about it but my reason is because i don't want anyone to end up there when they die. I don't want them to die in their sins.

i see their horrible fate in hell, it's become such a burden in my heart sometimes i feel like screaming off a roof top "Repent!" But i know that's not they way to share the gospel. Have to be careful how you say it, you don't want people to think you're nuts but you do want to convict them of their sins and their need for a savior.

I have to point something out. I think i forgot to mention it can be pretty worrying for people (if you are worried about your salvation, then examine yourself to see if you're in the faith, if you conclude that you're not then repent and get right with God now).

My understanding at the moment is that true christians DON'T fall away, unless they do something dramatic like willfully fall away. But they say along Peter "Lord to who shall we go to, You have the words of eternal life."

Personally I feel that hell is not a fiery pit of torment.

I think that in God's presence there is life and light, and away from his presence there is only darkness and death. So people who are not with god when they die are stranded in the eternal darkness and death that not being in God's presence brings.

But that's only my opinion, which could be completely wrong, and because none of us will know the answer to these things until we are with the lord I feel it's a moot question and more important to focus on finding god than trying to work out what hell is.

hi all, as you've heard, sometimes a person dies for whatever reason, car accident or bullet, or whatever, and is brought back to life by doctors .. some people have given accounts of what they saw while they were dead. One person who gave an account was a hitman who had killed people then got shot himself. Doctors say that there was no brain activity or heart activity while he was dead. He told about a place away from God where his body was tortured and chewed by strange creatures. When he was revived, he was shocked and a fully changed person and became a Christian. People who say this was a dream should remember that there was NO brain activity at the time when he was dead.
He experienced this and told others about it. He realy did die, it wasn't just a vision which anyone can claim to have. The fact that he is a completely changed person is proof of an extraordinary experience.

Pray for the unsaved...

Its important to separate your feelings and opinions from what is scriptural...
