The definition is in the New Testament and the Lord summed in His commandments to us ( Matthew 7:12, Matthew 22:36-40 etc.) which originally are in the Old Testament ( Deuteronomy 6:4, Leviticus 19:18). Unbiblical and silly?? When we take the bible as a whole, it's always been life or death. What's silly is not taking to heart Christ's words when he calls the Lake of Fire "the second death"

Even one of the most quoted verses in the bible supports it -John 3:16 which proves only one gets everlasting life. The other perishes. It does not state the other gets eternal life in hell. But again, if we want to believe death does not mean death than one can believe anything.

Christ's words in Matthew 10:28 totally supports the words in Malachi-

Malachi 4:1 "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave then neither root nor branch."

That's what a fire does.

To suggest there's no support in the bible for the body and soul being "fully" (the Greek) destroyed in the Lake of Fire is untrue. I mean, it is called the "second" death for a reason.

Their material bodies are placed in the grave. Their souls go immediately to heaven or hell. That is why Jesus said to the repentant thief on the cross beside Him:

“Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” (Lu 23:43 NKJV)

“For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.” (Php 1:23 NKJV)

No suggestion of departing this life then waiting in the grave for the last day to be with Christ.
