Hi!

I have a question for those who believe in hell. How does this belief work in your daily life? Does it enter into any decision making(maybe along side other factors)? Is there any daily fear about it?

Sometimes on the web it's hard to tell HOW someone is asking a question, and I would like to clarify that I really am curious, and not trying to wind anyone up! :)

Thanks!

Not sure if I understand your question, but no, I don't think about hell daily. And it doesn't frighten me because that's not my destination. Sadly enough though, it didn't frighten me when I wasn't a Christian either. Looking back, now THAT is scary. It's like I was playing roulette with my eternal future!

a christian once wrote and has often been quoted - that everything that we do in this world, in the physical realm has an effect on the spiritual world.

how far the ripple reaches, we do not know. but hell is a real place. it is as real as heaven. and Satan. and God.

it is important to remember that God is more powerful than Satan and that those who are truly God's children need not fear because they believe in their hearts and minds that Jesus already made the way that we may leave their old sinful lives. He paid the price of all our sins so that instead of eternal death(hell), believers have Him (Jesus) and eternal life. This is the most important decision anyone could ever make.

now, as a true believer, i find that hell should not affect my daily life any less than before but more. because now i know the truth, that it is real and that the people i know and love will definitely find themselves there if nobody tells them, if they do not believe. so i pray for them, to those who are willing to listen, i share the message of God's love and His salvation for all who choose to believe in Him.

i hope this helps answer your question and that it will help you to believe in the one true God not just in your mind but also in your heart because God loves you very much and wants you to have a personal relationship with Him and really know Him for who He is. i will pray for you too.

It does not come up at all in our daily lives, why should it, for we are not going there. For we have been giving a Gift of Life forever, there is no fear of what you speak. We only hurt for the ones who do not find Christ.

The only thing about the existance of hell that affects me in my daily life is that is makes me work harder to spread God' Word so others won't go there.
I realize that I'm not doing anything to prevent others from going there...Jesus has all the credit and glory for that...but I want to let Him use me so much so others can know what a great life it is to live for Him....not just to avoid Hell but to live life and that more abundantly! God bless!!

Hi there!

A professing Christian doesn't put the focus on hell or avoiding hell, a professing Christian is like the horse pulling the buggy or the eyes leading the body. The owner of that horse puts blinders on that horse so he isn't distracted by what is going on beside him. When one becomes a Christian, one does the same thing, one turns their head towards God, and because of their love of God, they aren't going for what's going to distract them from doing what pleases God.

And every time that a Christian DOES lose that focus... ouch.

I don't think about hell at all. I've never really given a whole lot of thought into what happens after I die. I'm more concerned with getting to know God right now since I ama newborn Christian, but I think after I get myself settled my thought of hell, maybe daily, will be how many people I know that I don't want to go there.

Interesting question. As for me, I don't let my thinking of hell interfere with my decision making. I surely know that some of my decisions aren't pleasing to God, but I don't believe I'm right away doomed to hell because of that. Every day I ask God to show me the sins I made (those I'm not aware of) so I can confess them and ask his forgiveness.

I believe we must constantly be aware that there is going to be a positive destruction of all evil on earth. That there is a hell.
Nah moo, you believe Jesus is the Son of God, you'll be right, But, it's also up to us to follow the Son's Commandments.

Yeah I follow the 10 commandments as closly as I can...it's not like I'm gonna go out and start killin' because I know I"m not going to Hell.
