I have seen that, but I think that as a team effort we may focus on positive health specifically. For instance theres a lot of positive psychology which could be helpful for the general auduience, and they may not want to go to "anxiety support" or "psychosis support" because they do not have specific diagnioses, and dont want that association.
Thats my view anyway, these support forums are for "ill people". If there was a health support forum for well people that would be great.
I know in mental health for instance theres the idea or recovery - part of the process being learning not to see oneself as ill, primarily as a schizophrenic etc. Rather one is a painter, or a sister, or a poet etc. Definitions of identity moving away from ill to more positive labels. Like William Blake, it may be interesting that he could have been psychotic, but thats incidental, we know him as a great poet.
A "general health" forum would be a magnet for energisers IMO, people who want to motivate you and whose attitude makes you feel the tingle and buzz of the good, purpose driven life. Focusing on achieving positives, not avoiding negatives.
Also theres the general duty in an ethical community to promote well being, and this involves helping people avoid becoming ill in the first place. Prevention is better than cure.
See what I mean?
Thanks,
GS!
