  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Would anyone here please explain this bible verse to me? I'm not 100% sure what it means.

"Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,"

At first glance it looks like everyone dies one time. However, that cant be it, because

1. Some believers of Christ will still be alive on judgment day and will receive eternal life without dying.
2. The Bible has several stories about dead people getting resurrected. This was a very long time ago. Obviously those people died again.
3. The second death is mentioned in revelation.

However, that cant be it, because
Exceptions to the general rule do not turn the rule invalid.
There are also many times that the Scriptures use the word "all" as something general, not as an absolute "all" as in "everyone" or "everything."

Yes but the people who will experience a "second death" are ALOT of people.
