Luke 21:33 "Heaven & earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away." My question is, if we're in Heaven & it passes away what happens to our souls? Where do they go if there's no Heaven? Am I reading it wrong?
We are not in heaven therefore nothing can be removed from God's Word or law Mat 5:18. In heaven there will be no more sin, no more tears, that is not the world we live in today. Soon Jesus will come and all of the scriptures will be fulfilled, until then we should obey Him and His law through faith and love..

I'm confused by the wording I guess. I don't know why it says Heaven will pass away because I always thought of Heaven as a permanent place. I'm not there yet but I won't be on earth in this body much longer at my age.

It saying heaven and earth will pass away before His Word will. It's showing how strong His Word is. He uses a similar phrase over His law. Mat 5:18 we see these as interchangeable in Mark 7.

Basically He is assuring us of His promises in scriptures will not fail and we can rest assure heaven and earth would pass away (which I would like to see that) before His Word does. God makes good on His promises. :)

Ok that makes more sense to me now, thanks.

Parerchomai (pass away) = is mostly used in the sense of ….to transpire… of a time or situation.

There are three heavens that are mentioned in the Bible …atmospheric, celestial, and where God Jesus and the angels reside.

This verse in Luke_21:33 and the others in Mat & Mark are all in the singular. The only verses that use this word parerchomai as a plural… is in 2Pe 3:10.

The use in the gospels may be referencing the atmospheric since it is associated with earth, or it could be celestial…. Certainly 2Pe 3:10 indicates more than one. But then again, all these verses are referencing “the Day of the Lord” and we know that the celestial heavens will be rolled up like a scroll.

However ….the word parerchomai is also used Rev 21:1 …for the former heaven and the first earth were passed away … But the next verse (Rev 21:2) indicates that the Heaven where God and Jesus reside, is untouched.

Don't forget the new Kingdom comes down to mankind from Heaven as mankind's new abode.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth is speaking hyperbolically to stress a point. There will be a new heaven and earth and it could mean renewal. Blessings.

In Him there is only light:

5 And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

He is forever.

But when earth is destroyed heaven will become one. One with God.
No more darkness, only light, the word is light.

Heaven is when 2 is, heaven and earth.
When earth is no more
Heaven is all

Heaven is light
Heaven is His word
Heaven is Love
Heaven is eternity

But heaven is not
when earth is not

When earth is gone
Heaven will be called God
His name is: I AM
The One that always remains

The word is one with God:

20On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.

Luke 17:21 “Neither do they say, 'Behold, here it is!' and 'Behold, from here to there!', for behold, the Kingdom of God is within some of you.”
