• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

okay, i'm new my name is Brynn. I dont know if something like this has been posted but i have a question that is really bothering me. i have no religion yet. i am researching it and attempting to find one i fit in. anyway i am wondering what you believe: what does God think of SI? is this a sin and will it send us to hell?
please help me i'm really scared.

i'm surpised someone hasn't answered this. hi sweetheart :hug:. i think your questions are requiring a conversation indepth about believing in God and salvation.

first let me tell you, that our God is very loving and does not want anyone to be unhappy and hurting. there is some very unkind things in this world that teach us to believe in the wrong things. like thinking that if there is a god, that he's going to squish everyone who has sinned to hell. God teaches us that we are His children, and that this life is not our final destination. God teaches us that He wills that no man be sent to eternal death. God teaches us, that He would deny us nothing, including the sacrifice of His son in our place. death is the consequence of the sin. God teaches us to love eachother and learn His ways. He walks amoung us, and teaches us peace and joy.
it isn't snap your fingers there; it's a life long lesson in love and life. learning why good is life, and sin is not. God created us, breathed life into us, and calls us His sons and daughters. :groupray:

^ *Agrees* Christ died for all sin, including self harm. Self harm doesnt mean that we are condemned to hell, for as long as we accept Christ as our personal Saviour, we are redeemed from all sin.
