  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Forgive me if this has been repeated before. I have seen a thread or two about who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. Fundamentalists believe that only those who are saved through the belief in Jesus go to heaven.

What about:

- The stillborn of Christian mothers.
- The stillborn of non-Christian mothers.
- Aborted embryos.
- Very young children of Christian mothers who are too young to understand and express concepts of God and the Bible, but who die young.
- A heinous murderer who accepts Jesus into his heart only right before the IV line is opened at his execution.
- Those who don't follow each piece of Scripture literally, but who believe that Jesus is the son of God and way to salvation.
- Homosexuals who are Christian, but who have had homosexual sex.

Sorry if this is too much, but feel free to add in your own questions on who goes to heaven or hell.

I think young children are sinless and therefore, innocent and Heaven-bound. Regardless of the mother's beliefs. At some point (undeterminable) the child will be responsible for his/her own actions.

A heinous murderer who accepts Jesus into his heart only right before the IV line is opened at his execution.

I am not sure about this situation. I trust God to make such decisions :)

- Those who don't follow each piece of Scripture literally, but who believe that Jesus is the son of God and way to salvation.

If someone claims to follow the entire Bible literally, they are lying.

- Homosexuals who are Christian, but who have had homosexual sex.

Christians who engage in homosexual behavior can be forgiven for their sins like anybody else.

Inconel did an excellent job answering those. Let me address the heinous murderer in this fashion. If Hitler had accepted Jesus Christ with his last breath, He would eternally be with Jesus. That is just how forgiving Jesus is. For a lot of people , Hitler is the consummate example of as evil as a person can get. But Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected into His glory so that even the Hitler's of the world may be forgiven and guaranteed eternal life.

Though a lot of us have not done things that the world would think to measure up to the heinousness of Hitler, our sins are indeed as much a burden to us, and we have all wondered how Christ could forgive us.

There's a young lady out there who has had multiple abortions and people have told her that she is going to hell. But the blood of Christ can forgive and wash aaway that sin.

There is a guy out there who has raped many young ladies and he is thinking ain't no way Jesus can forgive Him. Jesus can forgive that sin.

There s a husband out there who has infected his wife and his newborn child with HIV and he wants to take his own life. He doesn't have to because Jesus can forgive Him too.

We've all done things for which we deserve to be sent straight to hell.

But God is a God of mercy. And if we will humble ourselves and bow before the cross, the blood stained banner of Christ will drip down and wash us whiter than snow IN SPITE of those things we have done.

So yes, the heinous murderer who accepts Christ into his heart right before he is executed will be saved.

Jesus Himself said "I am the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE come to the Father except by Me."

Although the Bible does not come out and say it, most theologians express the concept of the "age of accountability". This is an area that we must learn to trust in a Graceful and Just God.

If the thief on the cross near Jesus is an example, and the murderer has truely accepted Jesus as His only savation and as Lord of his life (even if it is only for a few mor seconds), then he will be saved.

Some portions of scripture are not intended to be followed "literally" and are "metaphores" for a point of communication. There are "core" beliefs that MUST be adhered to...

1. We are ALL sinners.
2. Jesus is God's Son, the second member of a triune Godhead.
3. Jesus came to Earth and lived a perfectly sinless life.
4. Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of ALL of our sins, past present and future.

In order to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven we must...
5. Acknowledge that we are sinners.
6. Ask Jesus to forgive our sins
7. Accept that Jesus is Right and Just to forgive our sins.
8. Repent (turn away) from our sins
9. Acknowlede that, even after salvation, we will continue to sin
10. Daily confess and repent from our sins

christalee4 said:

The key word here is "had". When confronting those caught in sinful activities, Jesus always concluded by saying "go and sin no more." If they are repentent and regenerate, they will WANT to leave the lifestyle. Because we are still sinners after salvation, we are required to daily confess and repent from our sins. Those sins are wiped permanantly from our records with the label "forgiven". This is not to say that they will not struggle with past desires. However, if they do not repent, then they may get into heaven, but they will be judged for their sins.

Son-cerely,
Nathan Powers

Wait, fundamentalist guys, don't leave me here!

No one really answered the questions directly. And can anyone answer them Scripturally?

I know it is a hard question to answer, but I have heard multiple times not just from this forum but also from other Christians that one can only get to heaven if one understands and states that one accepts Jesus as God's Only Son, and therefore follows the Truth.

Now, Zaac, on another post, you did say that you objected to Rev. Bakker's assertion that the innocent Jews who were killed in the Holocaust were going to heaven. If the sentient and aware Jewish adults who did not accept Jesus were going to hell, were also their young children and babies who did not understand what was going on? Or did those young children go to heaven?

Are Jewish babies who died young destined for hell? If so, are the babies of Christian mothers who died young also destined for hell? How would one counsel a Christian mom who lost her baby? Is her baby going to hell because he or she wasn't able to voice his or her belief that Jesus was their savior?

I believe that sin is sin. One type of sin is not worse than another. A murderer is just as sinful as a liar. Only God knows what is in our hearts so if a man truly accepts Jesus before his execution he will go to heaven.

So only the Christian homosexual goes to hell?

Please show me Scripturally how those, such as newborns, embryos, and Jewish babies (of course not the Jewish adults or adolescents), and those Christians who may not fully interpret Scripture literally are going into heaven.

Please show me.

Like I said, the regular fundamentalist guys, please don't desert me here. Unless you don't have answers you'd like to reveal..

Thank you and God bless...

So, in Zaacland, if Hitler had accepted Christ in his last moments, and truely repented, he would go to heaven, but the 6 million Jews he murdered...go to Hell.

When does Hitler have to pay for what he did. Why do the Jews have to get a double whammy. Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.

I'm sure glad our justice system isn't modeled after Zaac's, otherwise we'ld be trying and imprisoning rape victims, and giving the rapists nice big checks.

We've all done things for which we deserve to be sent straight to hell.

Speak for yourself man. I've never killed anyone, I've never raped anyone, I've never screwed anyone over, I've done nothing to deserve being horribly tortured for eternity. Yet, according to you, I will be, why rapists and murderers and really bad ppl dine in heaven?

How can you call this justice with a striaght face?

But God is a God of mercy. And if we will humble ourselves and bow before the cross, the blood stained banner of Christ will drip down and wash us whiter than snow IN SPITE of those things we have done.

His mercy is limited. Comes with a catch.

Heaven

</FONT>Hell (unless they repent).

So, the murderer goes to heaven, but the gay goes to Hell.

I'm not going to comment, I think the insanity of your belief speaks for itself.
