  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yep Us hillbillies have to stick together. ;) But no I don't agree with everything said by any and all hillbillies. As for someone gloating over those who were sent to hell, That is sick. :( Even God says He takes no delight in the death of the wicked.

Truthfully, I didn't read any article on this website and my intent isn't to argue the point with you. However, I would appreciate if you could send me to a specific article where the author gloats over someone being condemend to hell.

They come out from time to time so I'll keep you in mind. AFA did, about six months ago, have a story on a North Carolina pastor who was fighting against the GLSEN in the schools. I did a search on his church and found a link to his e-mail so I sent him a message telling him I didn't think his cruel actions were being undertaken with proper loving spirit. He wrote me back and told me I was going to hell because I disagreed with him (it went to an AOL address and was automatically deleted otherwise I'd post a copy of it). He may have had me confused with someone else (which isn't reassurring) or just been having a bad day, but it seemed excessively Phelpsian (after Fred Phelps, www.godhates****.com and www.godhatesamerica.com ).

Some time ago our church in conjunction with some other local churches (Catholic and Congregational) participated in an Alpha program. I did not attend due to schedual conflicts but I want to next time. Anyway one of the subjects is Heaven and Hell.

Overnight,
this fall will be my 5th time facilitating an ALPHA Course. It is an non-denominational look at the basics of Christianity and is offered by Anglican, Roman Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Salvation Army, Free Church, Pentecostal, Assemblies of God and House Churches.

It was originally designed for agnostics, aethists, and seekers just beginning or questioning their walk. We talk out many of the questions asked by non-believers or doubters - - the Heaven / Hell question may or may not come up - it's not directly addressed in the course. But it's a SAFE place to pose that type of question.

Topics are - Christianity: Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant? Who Is Jesus? Why Did Jesus Die? How Can I Be Sure of My Faith? Why and How Should I Read the Bible? Why and How Do I Pray? How Does God Guide Us? Who Is the Holy Spirit? What Does the Holy Spirit Do? How Can I Be Filled With the Spirit? How Can I Resist Evil? Why and How Should We Tell Others? Does God Heal Today? What About the Church? How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?

Just a note as many life-long Christians / church attenders struggle with the simplicity and occasionally have become legalistic / judgemental with questions from seekers. If you DO go on a course, please be gentle.
