Shouting at people with Bible quotes is not a good way to teach. Saying that God is coming to get them is not a good way to convert.

It is the equivalent of hitting someone in the head repeatedly with a Bible. It angers (or if your lucky only annoys) the person and teaches them nothing good about Christianity.

You want to see something really amusing...there's a thread in Women's Discussion about the Law of Attraction. The OP asked a group of Christian women what they think of LOA... and of course got the typical response you'd expect - it's about the "self"; people who use LOA are "materialistic", etc. Luckily, there were 3 posters (and myself) who actually have a clue about it.

If you believe in Calvinism, which in my understanding suggesting that God chooses to save some, but not all, what is your point of telling "the heathen"? If those not chosen aren't chosen to be saved by God, exactly why do you find it necessary to let the heathen know that? What redeeming quality, other than a spiritual, "I'm going to heaven and you aren't! So there" do you expect to achieve? In other words, what is your point of this OP?

The point that the propagators of this "sovereign" God keep missing: a truely sovereign God is not reliable. He cannot be trusted, because reliability would mean that God subjects himself to the contract he made with his creation. He ceases to be sovereign.

So as much as these kind Christians like to rant about how God loves them and hates the heathens... they cannot put trust in that.

If there indeed is a last judgement, and God praises all the heathens, sceptics and mockers and condemns they yay-sayers and mindless followers to eternal damnation, all they could do is keep on applauding him.

After all, he is right. Whatever he does. And that is not necessarily what you think he will do.
