  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

:help::help::help::help::help:Hi,

Asking for prayers. I have been pretty low..not seeing the light...i actually fasted the proper way this past weekend from food, television, and the internet. Instead I used the time to pray and read the bible...for a special prayer request that only God can come through on. I gave a date in which I asked God please grant me the blessing and we are less than 6 days away and still nothing and I don't see any signs of it happening.....so... whelp the fasting didn't work. I am angry, upset, and feel guilty for feel angry and upset. I truly wanted that miracle and it hurts that its not happening. So i am completely heartbroken. Please pray for me. As I continue to pray for you.

God's timing is not our timing. Patience is truly a hard thing to learn and once the Lord has helped you master it, it is a virtue.....I will pray for you....I have been born again for 12 yr's and I have never fasted so your doing much better then me. Maybe you fasting is a sign that I need to fast. God works in very strange ways.

Thank you very much, despite me feeling low about my self and my life, I am always happy when i can help others. So if by me telling you I fasted helps you or gives you a sign then I am glad I can help. Thank you for the prayers. Very hard to be positive about myself but I am trying.

I am afraid you are approaching prayer from the wrong direction. You have determined what you want, and you are trying to convince God to do it for you. That is the wrong way round.

A better approach is the one the Lord himself used in Gethsemane. He was distressed to the point of sweating blood at the thought of his imminent death, and he asked God not to let it happen. But he ended his prayer by saying, 'Yet not my will but thine be done.' And God indeed did let him die.

We too have to learn to say these same words, and for the same reason. God is supreme, and he must be allowed to decide for us, because he understands more than we do what is best for our lives. So, instead of the prayers you have been saying, change instead to the words used by the Lord. 'Yet not my will but thine be done.' These are very simple words, but they have a very very difficult meaning. It takes us a lifetime to learn what they mean.

God be with you.

Be positive about God instead. He will help you, but you have to accept first that it is his choice how he does it, and when he does it.

Our role is to trust, to pray and to follow Christ.

I have accepted that is his choice and I do know it. That is why I am on here asking for prayers to help me turn my negative feelings into positives. Thanks again for taking time out to respond.
