Curled up in a tight ball
Feeling so alone
And afraid
Getting older but never fully maturing
Still that hurt little girl
So very long ago
Still curled up in a tight ball
Crying until there are no tears left
Sitting, feeling alone
Wanting to die
Feeling brave, taking a blade
And cutting skin
Feeling release
Finally feeling release
However it comes back
And for years, cutting skin
To have a release
You deserve to hurt
You deserve pain
You have to be punished
For being so bad so long ago
Finding a friend
Far away
Someone to talk to
His words are different
They speak of God
They speak of healing
Moving away
Into a world of healing
Fear all around
But something is different
Yes, there's a light here
A light of hope
And of healing
There is a sense of joy
And of happiness
The spirit of God is all around
God is talking
He is doing glorious things
Always teaching
And always loving
Healing is here
And is already taking place
One must break open your heart
And be humble before the Lord
