  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My personal experience with healing is not like the teleevangelistic kind.

For one thing two incidents in scripture led me to believe that money should never be accepted from someone you heal.

One was Elisha healing the widows son

The other was Yeshua telling his students to give freely what they received freely.

(please not bashing teleevangelist)

I asked God a question once about my calling. My daughter came in the house with a chunk of wood about 1/2 long and almost 3/8th inches wide wedged in the palm of her hand. Later that day I had a meeting with the pastor on the subject of healings - I believe healing is an office in the church just like pastor, teachers, prophets.

Basically I took all the wood out of her hand she had gotten from the slide with wood handrails and I Prayed over her hand for healing for varification of this office and my calling. I sent her to nap the pastor gave me his speal on why miraculous gifts had ended and basically would not listen to my sharing which was the original reason for the meeting... I'd heard his theological views for years.

Pastor left Daughter popped out of bed yelling God heald her hand. Okay like I didn't believe God would, though I believed he could. I started checking all five kids for scars on their hands because... sometimes I'm ditzy and I forget which kid what happened to.

Non of the kids had any wounds on their hands and that in it self would have been unusual. So I checked my daughter's hands again. My husband who had listened to the whole discussion between the pastor and I, my husband was not surprised by the healing. It taught me several things.
God's ability is not based on our ability to believe he will do it.
God is not only the God who can heal, he is the God who is willing to heal.
God even cares for our little wounds.

I've done a lot of scripture learning about healing. I've had a bootcamp in natural healing, as God gave me wisdom for my every illness and made me intolerant of man made drugs. Sometimes I don't know how I had the guts to deal with children's injuries and illness... as they make me squimish just to hear about them.

The gifts God has given me I've never heard about anywhere and there are no books to learn from and till I started going to the Messianic Church I wasn't really around people who would accept my ministry or believed healing was a gift for today.

You know the bible says, "my people die for lack of knowledge" Part of that is the lack of knowledge of God herbs that he gave for healing. Part of that is the lack of being willing to cry out to God till he gives an answer.

The sages speak of how Moses entreated God to take the people into the promised land many times. Until God said to speak of it no more.

Any Believer can lay hands on another for God to heal them. I just happen to believe that healing is a gift to varify God's prophets, or an office of ministry in the congregation or just a plain ole good gift he gives to Those who call upon his name in their time of need.

I think some are dying for lack of knowing about the office of the healer in the congregation. Some because they are too proud to go to the elders. Some because of their sins and some because their time is finished here on earth.

I guess if their time is not at an end... I should be praying for healing no matter how small or how big the miracle. No matter how long it takes to get the answer. There is no miracle bigger than God's love for us, that he should let his Chosen one die for the people of God. Regeneration, Raising from the dead, healing of wounds, binding the broken heart...God heals and he makes alive. The biggest miracle though is that he should love one such as I.

Amen....

Faith does it.

I was in a congregation that had a lady up for surgery on a stomach cancer. She had asked the elders to come and pray for her and anoint her with oil. They all thought it a waste of time but scripturally felt obligated to do as this lady requested because if it would make her feel better, then they have done their good deed for the day. [they were all of the medical profession] The pastor was also of the same opinion and went with them to anoint her with oil. She did not need surgery, the cancer was gone. She believed.

Just thought I would share my personal experience with healing . I am only 27 and last year after a couple years of symptoms and just an instinctive feeling I finally went and had a colonoscopy .The dr basically poo poohed me saying I was too young and healthy, but she went ahead and did the test anyway. When I woke up in recovery both the doc and my husband were crying .She had told my husband what she found could very well turn him into a widower. I had a 6-8 tumor in my colon that was pre-cancerous with a 99% likelyhood of having a cancerous core ( the tumor had so many fingers spreading out she couldnt get biopsy of the core only the surrounding areas ).So surgery was set up with a specialist 2 hours away and we were ready to go have about 12 inches of my colon removed and then start chemo and possibly radiation according to the docs plans. Two days before my surgery the head pastor at my husbands church asked if I would be anointed .Now, I have no really close friends in this congregation apart form the pastors wife but the eveinig I was anointed the whole congregation came forward crying and laying their hands on me while the pastor prayed. Two days later the section of my colon was removed and the doctors were literally dumbfounded .Within my colon what had been biopsied and come back as a tumor 2 months prior was basically just a large polyp ,The surgeon was amazed and even a little irritated he didnt get to save my life all of the nursing staff on my floor were talking with amazement and all glory to Yahuah he can and does still heal today .
