Are healing rooms biblical? I have a friend who is really into this kind of stuff and it is kind of bothering me. Any input would be appreciated.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It depends on what they are doing in the healing rooms.
There is a Christian movement which involves setting up some rooms a little like a doctors surgery. I expect some internet searches should show details.
I have a friend who has good solid biblical knowledge & a gift of healing who visited one of these & investigated what they did.
In a doctor's surgery a doctor who is trained medically interviews the patient & attempts to discern the medical problem & prescribes medication or lifestyle changes. In these particualr healing rooms my friend visited, instead of a doctor, people who have been trained on praying for the sick pray for the person in Jesus name. She spoke very well of what they did & was considering joining. They have a very well organised training program & a vision for growth.
One thing that is on my heart is to see God's power manifest to a much greater extent in the sick bing healed. I would like it to get to the point where when a non-Christian family has someone sick, they talk amongst themselves & say "Ok what are we going to do, we can talk our child to the doctor to be healed, or we can talk him to the local church (or Christian healing room)".
On the other side of the coin, I have a work colleage whose wife is a "healer" - new age. They are setting up a business where sick people visit her. I am not sure exactly what is done but it is clearly not done in Jesus name.
So it depends on what they are doing in the healing room. Why not visit & see? Can you just ring them up & say "Hey I am interested to see what you are doing. Can I visit? ...making it clear that you don't want prayer for healing in case it is not done in Jesus name.

They are made of believers who simply lay hands on the sick.
Some flow in grace and others are under the law and become more religious.
They are 'set up' like a doctors office and not usually in a church building.
The one I worked at for 5 years, operated in a part of a drop in centre where we had people coming in at times right off the street.
We did see miracles of healing, jobs, and of course people coming to JESUS.
Things do start to happen when believers believe!

where two or three are gathered in His name .
that is church .
The Healing rooms function as a ministry . it is more a church than most in that all the members are ministers of healing practicing their spiritual gifts .
i wouldn't minimize the healing rooms just because it doesn't get involved in politics (by virtue of it being too busy doing the Lord's work) but spans denominational lines . i would think of it as a model for the rest of the institution that calls itself "church" instead .

When you meet the true GOD of gods, the LORD JESUS and ask HIM to take over your life, as you give up and need HIM to come in to you and wash all your sins way, then you will have joy, and peace that you don't have right now.
We are sinners that CAN NOT make it on our own or with help from great people or great teachers or anybody as how our only hope is in the LORD JESUS.
When you ask HIM, HE will help you and begin a life of change and purpose and great peace.
How will you know?
You will know it, because you will know HIM.
Guilt will be a thing of the past - as HE took our sins and took our guilt at the cross dying in our place to make peace for us before GOD.

I visited a healing room in the foothills outside of Denver over a year ago. Was prayed over in Jesus name from my alcohol abuse, was instantly healed and the desire for alcohol was and has been gone.
I remember when they prayed they talked to satan, casting him out in Jesus name.
I know some churches don't believe that is necessary but I felt peace and love there and believe the presence of God was there as only He could make a miracle like that happen.

If Jesus is taught in these healing rooms and the gospel of the grace of God is preached and all kinds of sicknesses and all kinds of diseases among the people are healed in Jesus' Name, there is nothing to be concerned about.
