Been saved 45 years. Been into "WoF" for 43 of those years. The first thing every believer needs to do is adopt a "the Word is true" policy. If the word says "by His stripes you were healed." then never suggest that it is otherwise. Doubt that you could be sick. During that 43 years I have never spent a night in the hospital. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been to the Dr.You feel unwell, you pray, confess the Word and believe. But you still feel unwell, so you pray again and believe that you are healed and confess that. But you are still in pain. Is it simply that your faith isn't strong enough yet and you have to continue to pray and confess the Word?
In other words, how long can healing take and how do you train your mind so it doesn't doubt when the pain remains? Thanks!
It is never God. I do not even pray for healing. I know that I am already healed of every possible sickness. This has nothing to do with bragging. It has to do with the integrity of the Word. I am boasting in His Word. If a cancer were to sprout up somewhere on my body... the word of God is still true. We were healed so I am healed. I will not lie and deny that cancer, but the confession of my heart will not change. I am in perfect health. I pray God I have strength and my confession remain even on the death bed. Let my last breath say I am healed. God is true and every man a liar. I am healed... it simply cannot be any other way. Completely remove God from the list of causations. It is not Him. It will never be Him. Never doubt Him. This is the first step.
Do not try to believe. That does not work. Let the Word do the work. It is true regardless of what you think or do. Whether you believe or you not believe the Word is still true. Kenyon pointed this out in his writing. He said he never tried to convince people to believe. Belief is not a choice. Belief is the natural result of knowing the integrity of God and His word. Let the burden of belief fall when it belongs. Let it fall on His power and integrity. How could I be sick? He said it. How could anything else be true? I have to be healed. I am not talking about your head here... I am talking about your heart. What your heart says may contradict what your head says. Your head says you have a cancer... your heart quietly whispers "I am healed, I am healed.... He said I am healed." Confess those words. It is settled in heaven... settle it now in your heart and mind. You are healed. When it comes to salvation, Paul said that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. He went on to say "be ye therefore reconciled." The only part you have to do is agree... "Ok... I am reconciled!" Begin to act, think, and believe like someone who is reconciled. The same logic applies to healing. God was in Christ healing the world by His suffering, taking away their sickness. Be ye therefore healed! "Ok, I am healed!"
I guess my point is for you to stop trying. Let the Word do it. You are helpless before the absolute integrity of His Word. Just rest in it. "By His stripes we were healed... so I am..."
Hagin told a story about the man who was swept up by the zeppelin. A zeppelin was coming in for a landing. Ropes were dropped from the airship so that the men below could grab them and help bring the ship in. Several men grabbed the ropes. Suddenly a gust of wind came up and lifted the zeppelin into the air. Several of the men did not release the ropes and suddenly found themselves dangling hundreds of feet in the sky. One by one the men lost their grip and fell... some to their death. One particular man did not fall. He could be seen high up in the sky at the end of the rope... People wondered how he managed to hold on while the others fell. After some time the airship finally landed, with the man safely back on the ground. People rushed up to him asking how he held on so long. He replied "I did not hold on, I just grabbed the rope and wrapped it around myself and enjoyed the ride!" He let the rope do the work. We need to do that with the word. Stop trying to hold on... just wrap ourselves in the Word and let it do the work. Enjoy the ride.
Peace
