I am a Baptist wife and mother and my family believes in the headship veiling or headcovering, I was wondering if there are others out there, maybe who don't live in a community where this is a normal practice. I am the only person I know who wears a headcovering. I am also looking for online friends who follow this practice and this was the only forum I could think of where I might find the fellowship i am seeking. As I do not know what anabaptist believe, maybe you could minister to me too.

You'll find 'em here.

I know you'll not find many baptists that cover and it's interesting that you do.

If you'll check the sticky thread above, check the links to anabaptists, read up and then let us know any questions you may have. You may find you have lots in common with the anabaptists (mennonites, brethren, etc).

Hi there & welcome. I don't cover as such but have taken to wearing a bandana, partly for practical reasons with the home business we're starting & partly because I feel the holy spirit is leading that way but my dh feels it's legalistic so I'm not making a fuss about it & I don't wish to go against him in this. It doesn't change who I am any & covered or not God has his work cut out with me. :)

if i remember right, mennonitemaidens (entirely different forum, i don't think they'd join this one but may be wrong there)
have long and good experience with head-covering (and modesty), and explaining simply why Scripturally...
also heartofwisdom members go more into the Jewish Believers lives and hstory and Biblical Instructions about this and similar questions.

Hey, covered, we chatted once when you first joined CF. Good to see you again.

I wear a headcovering. This topic has come up a couple of times lately. People I know who do: Danfrey's daughter, RoseofLima (but only during Mass-she's Catholic), Worknprogress (also a Baptist).
I'm not officially Anabaptist, but this is my favorite denomination group with which to hang out. :)

I think most people can learn a lot from the A/Bs.

Good to see you coming around, Jehane! Course, if your Dh doesn't like it, it kinda goes against the purpose.... Maybe you can point him to a few webpages and have him help you through it. ;)

At present I'm just doing it & so long as he doesn't say an outright no we're cosy. He can see I need something to keep my hair out of all that glue! :D Apart from my white Sunday one they're all plain & workman-like & it would never occur to dh to forbid it if I felt that strongly about it. He's like that but not being traditionaly conservative there are some funnies. Picture me & my 2 girls, all covered (great for keeping their hair out of the way) taking on these big guys at soccer. (Not in skirts, no. I wear long trousers & a long shirt the girls long shorts & longT's.)
