Heya! I am about to start my first year of uni and...I'll be moving from the sunny Arizona desert to Worcester, MA to attend College of the Holy Cross here pretty soon.

I'm excited. :D And pretty scared...Massachusetts is a freaking long way from Arizona.

Anyone know any good churches in the Worcester area?

And um...how scared should I be of the winters in Mass? :scratchL (Keep in mind winter for me=flipflops, and tshirts...)

Hi,
You should not be scared of anything! Winters in MA are pretty intense especially in Worchester. But MA is awesome!
I lived in MA 38 years of my life, born & raised there. God called me to North Carolina 4 years ago so I am here now.

Be strong and of good courage.
Be blessed to see a White Christmas, there is nothing like it!

Blessings,
Susan

Thanks. :) I will check it out.

Ooh...winters...o_O I'm looking forward to having real seasons--not just "hot" and "hotter", but...I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with cold temperatures. :p

Susan, I'll actually be coming back home to AZ for CHristmas--so no actual snow on CHristmas for me...but before and after I bet I'll get some. ^_^

Few things to learn if you wanna fit in: never call Cape Cod, Cape Cod, it's called The Cape, you'll stick out like a sore thumb if you call it Cape Cod. most people from Ma think that the rest of the country owes them because it was the first place the Pilgrims landed, don't argue we can get defensive. New York (esp. New York City) are our mortal enemies, voicing that you like the New Yorkians esp. in Boston is like wearing a sign that says MUG ME. Most people that I've met in Ma don't call the Patriots the Pats, they call them the Patriots. I don't care how bad the Red Sox (which people just call the Sox) stats are, in Ma they are the best team PERIOD. And Yankees are the worst PERIOD. We acknowledge that the Celtics and the Bruins suck but don't say that to anyone but friends. Sports bars = really great way to make friends, if you don't drink a church might be a better place. Ma is a highly liberal state. We hate our Governor, Deval Patrick. Back to baseball David Ortiz is called "Big Papi", if you call him David Ortiz you'll get looks. Coke usually refers to every soda, not just Coke (except when ordering one, say the name of the soda). Hope this helps. Have fun in Worecester!
