  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been getting some headaches. not like migrain but still annoying and a little painful.
So i went to the pharmacy on Saturday because i happened to be passing and asked them what i should take for them (i finally found out what is safe - paracetomol only!!!)
So she said to me that if i was getting headaches i should get down to the doctors straight away as this can be a sign of pre-eclapsia.

I'm worried now - can it be? I'm 12 weeks. I am going to the midwife tomorrow so i'll check then but i thought i'd ask here as i am worried

No- no - no....if after 26 weeks you are getting regular and constant headaches it would be very wise just to call your doctor and check in.

Headaches are very, very common in pregnancy. Your hormones are all different, your dietary nedds are different, your blood volume increases, your vision can change....there are lots of reasons for it. But it is not a danger sign until much later, and even then headaches are also very common and harmless.

One of the things which I have found helps my headaches immensely is just laying down for about 15 minutes with an ice pack over my eyes.

Thank you Rose.

I did think that it was too soon for them to be being a problem but when the lady told me it raelly freaked me.

I'll try that.

I don't think it really helps when i am at work though. I did feel a bit heady over the weekend but not much - i even wore my contact lenses without them causing me problems. But back at work today and the headache is much worse

Yeah, just about everything can trigger headaches in the first trimester and even a little into the second. Mine never went away, but my doctor said that typically they taper off. One thing that worked for me was getting some Bedtime bath for babies (it is a lavendar scent) and taking a bubble bath with that. That would definitely loosen things up and the smell is mild enough that it doesn't trigger nausea or more aches. Caffeine also helps...just a little like a cup of tea or something. You would be surprised what a difference it makes! Tylenol never did the trick for me, so that was a waste of time...the baths worked best and that was a trick that Linnis taught me!!!

Thanks girls.

Well i saw the midwife this morning and asked her about them. She took my blood pressure which is just below normal and she said that the headaches are nothing to worry about at the moment.

I do have some protein in my water though which is being sent off to see if i have any sort of infection - please pray that i don't
