  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"24Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
25to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." (Jude 24)

We are so weak, frail, sinful, unworthy, etc, but God is able to keep us from stumbling in our walk with Him when we submit to Him and trust Him to uphold us! Hallelujah! Amen!

"20I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20)

This verse is going through my mind this morning:

"3You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you." (Isa 26:3)

This verse is going through my mind this morning:
Excellent post. Is this not the lesson He is teaching each one of us, that it is only as we see our complete inability to walk in the spirit unless we are kept by the spirit, that we can truly walk in real tangible victory?

I love the verse that tells us:

"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature"

2 Peter 1:4

It is these promises that are to make up our shield of faith that can effectively withstand every arrow satan casts at us. As we see them, believe them, appropriate them as ours, our shield of faith grows and solidifies. His promise to keep us from falling is but one of many amazing ones. He is not a man that he should lie. We serve a faithful God. Praise the Lord.

When we are weak, having been broken by the law and its demands, it is then that we are truly prepared to fully believe the promises. Faith grows in the soil of brokenness and admission of need. May God thoroughly teach us all that without Him, we can do nothing.

Blessings,

Bruce
