  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

He called me "Honey."

My ex is remarried. We talk occassionally about the kids. We were talking today about our youngest son who is struggling financially. He accidentally called me "Honey". It stirred up feelings I hadn't had in such a long time. I miss that term of endearment he used to use when he loved me and cared about me. I hate that it really belongs to someone else, as does he. Will I ever get over being his ex?

I remember once after I moved out on my cheating ex-husband, and we had been divorced for about five months, I had a car problem and called to ask him about warranties. I was upset, and he let a "babe" slip. I felt all those emotions stir up too. And I was the cheated-on ex spouse!!!

You will get over it....with lots of time and some prayer and support. It will help when you are able to date other men and hear other terms of endearment that are ALL YOURS

praying for ya!

My heart goes out to you. My husband left only 5 weeks ago and I was on the phone to him the other day and called him 'love'. It comes naturally after 20 years. I got off the phone and cried because he is no longer my 'love'. It is so heartbreaking.
Then yesterday my daughters gave me gifts that he had helped them buy which I really appreciated, BUT then he wanted to see me to give me a gift he had bought me for Mother's Day. That really stirred things up. It is all so confusing.
I guess it is going to take a long time to adjust after 20 years of being one and then being ripped apart.

Oops sorry, made this about me when I was responding to you. I suppose that even though they are gone they will always be a part of us because of who they once were in our lives. Our ex husbands will always be a part of who we are and I suppose will always have some sort of emotional attachment. I pray that for all us the pain will be slowly replaced with emotional peace and wholeness.

Yes you will. Time tends to heal those wounds.

I am so sorry for this.
