  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well....hypothetically speaking......

LOL

I think it would be boring if there were no hypothetical questions. Actually, I think we wouldn't be as technologically advanced if there were no hypotheses to lead us astray to try new and different things, to try the road less travelled, so to speak.

"When you want to be alone where do you go???"

A park in a town near where I live

"Where is your favorite place to spend your free time???"

at home or at the aforementioned park

"What is the most life changing book you have read???"

Well, I'm in the process of reading the Bible through at the moment and I would have to say that is *the* most life-changing book. I've read so many 'self help' books that it's hard to pick out just one. I'm getting ready to read Joyce Meyer's "Look Great, Feel Great".

"What colour is your bedspread???"

Mostly 2 shades of light blue but it has some other colours (red, beige, light green, yellow, white, black)....it is a quilt that has lighthouses on it.

"Do you watch TV alot???"

Sometimes...I am a CSI/other crime drama addict. I also watch a LOT of tv when there is a free preview of the hockey channels on DISH Network.

"What is your favorite programme????"

CSI (Vegas) and Da Vinci's Inquest

"When on Hoilday what do you like doing???"

being outside....swimming, walking, doing silly stuff. If I'm at home I like walking, working in the yard, relaxing outside

Do you have any pet hates???

People who lie, people who stare, people who try to tear you down to make themselves look better, snobs, people who think they know everything. I also hate it when people twist scripture to fit their own agenda

"What annoys you the most about other people???"

People seem so rude and inconsiderate sometimes.

"If you had to describe yourself in five word what would you say???"

sensitive, funny, intelligent(sorta), Christian, honest

"Do you agree with Beauty Pagents????"

No, I think they are lame and make us ordinary women feel like we are inferior because we can't live up to that ideal. I especially don't like them for younger girls because I think it teaches them to be 'divas' and I really can't stand divas.

Thanks for all of the questions. :)

I didn't know those guys were Canadian. Leslie Nielsen is great in Naked Gun. My favorite movies of all time. He was also in a TV series called Police Squad which aired between Airplane! & the Naked Gun.

I'm thinking this mystery person is either Alan Thicke or Neil Young. Neil's really looks good since he decided he was going to stop cutting, washing or brushing his hair.

I loooooooooove Police Squad too! That show was hilarious! Airplane! was great too.

The mystery dude isn't Alan Thicke and definitely not Neil Young. You're right....when IS the last time that man cut, washed or combed his hair??? I'm convinced something might be growing in there. It's also not Dan Ackroyd although I liked him in Ghostbusters and I like The Blues Brothers. lol

What do you do to pick yourself up after a particularly rough day?

It depends....

Today I went on a cleaning rampage at home then got on here to put my two cents in on a variety of topics. I know...I sometimes whine too.

Other days it may be that I take a long walk. Exercise is awesome for relieving stress. I don't do it enough but everytime I do I'm reminded why I should do it more.

I NEED to just spend a good bit of time in prayer but being human and prone to mistakes, I tend to be too distracted to successfully do this many days.

Also, sometimes listening to upbeat and positive music will do the trick.

I've also tried lately just relaxing and focusing on something that makes me happy...like thinking about the fact that hockey season is coming soon or thinking about some of my friends from my church who have reached and out lately and showed they care. I'm really blessed to have found that place.

Thanks for the question.

God Bless,

HC

You've mentioned a few times that you have a "worthless degree." What's the degree in (if you would like to disclose) and what would you study if you could go back and redo your undergrad years (a horrifying thought to my mind, but there we are ;) )?

My degree is Telecommunications with an option for radio/tv production. I got it in 1998 and I think by 2000 pretty much anyone who has a PC in their home with the right software could do anything I 'learned' while I was there. I also was misinformed by the staff at BS U (Ball State) about internships and therefore missed an opportunity to get the 'experience' I needed to actually do something with the degree. I started school in 1988 with the intention of getting an accounting or business degree. However, I was getting burned out with my bank-related job so I made the change to TCOM because, as I told my coworkers at the time "I'm too darn weird for banking." If I were to do it again though, I think I would pursue something in the medical field or forensic science. Science was my 'weak spot' in school but since then I've become a total addict about researching things and think I would be good at this type of work. I guess I'm still young enough to pursue it...I just have this utter fear of more student loans.

I guess the degree isn't totally worthless because it is an accomplishment that I pursued and finished while working full time. However, if you're talking about the 'increased earning potential with a degree' rubbish that college advertisements spew out, then the degree is worthless.

As a side note, I 'kind of' use my degree with my part time weekend job as a radio announcer. I worked in radio full time for 4 1/2 years but went back to the more 'business' type work because radio doesn't pay the bills. I was a news gatherer/reporter during that time. I hated news.
