Swindlers
1Cor 6:9,10 "...nor swindlers... will inherit the kingdom of God."
The word for "swindler" is also translated "ravenous" in some other places, as in Mt 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." They may view the ministry simply as a way to "fleece the flock" - swindling Christians for their own financial gain. Through extortion they seize other people's possessions. They may prey on the naive, misrepresenting themselves in some fashion, to extort money. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." 1Tim 6:10a In the end they will learn of saying, "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, ye forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" Mt 16:26
