  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jealousy

Gal 5:19-21 "...jealousy... those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

The Greek word for "jealousy" here is "zelos",also translated "zeal" and "envy". (For "jealous" comes from "zealous") Religious zeal is a common form of such jealousy. The violence and oppression practiced in Islamic countries is an example of such zeal. As is the Jewish zeal in killing their own Messiah and persecuting his followers. For even Pilate, "knew that they had handed Him over because of envy." Mt 27:18 And when Paul started preaching to Gentiles, "when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul." Acts 13:45 Of them Paul wrote, "I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. or they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God." Rom 10:1,2
