• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Alcoholics

1Cor 6:9,10 "...nor drunkards... will inherit the kingdom of God."

While alcoholism is increasingly being misconstrued as a disease and thus alcoholics portrayed as merely victims, the fact is that alcoholism is a willful sin and those who practice it are not mere victims but guilty of a crime so serious in God's eyes as to render them hell bound. Drug abusers and drunkards are on common ground, finding comfort in self-medicating through the misuse of such chemicals. As such they dull both their spiritual and physical senses and at times without even realizing it do harm to both themselves and others.

Drug abusers and alcoholics are like those who "blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’ —as though the drunkard could be included with the sober. The LORD would not spare him; for then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy would burn against that man, and every curse tha is written in this book would settle on him, and the LORD would blot ou his name from under heaven." Deut 29:19,20 While they try to escape reality through a bottle or a drug, they cannot escape the grave and the hell that follows.

No class of sins are worse than others. But the value in classing Alc. abuse as a disease is in helping to solve the problem. Like family members are in danger and separating them from abusers is healthy for them. We don't consider that babies born to Alc. abusers are sinners. Yet they are in danger....like a disease situation. Less like a sinner who gets what they deserve and will go to hell for it.

God doesn't send people to hell for being victims of a disease. Alcoholism is not a disease. It's a lifestyle choice.

It not. If you know people who do get addicted, and those who don't get addicted, they have different physiologies. It's not matter of habit. Some people experience a profound change with just a sip of alcohol. Others can walk away without issue.
