  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

KC, and Wols, you both know that you are always in my prayers. I am so sorry that your families are going through such trying times. I wish that there was something more I could do for you. :sigh: I will continue to offer supplications for you. Remain hopeful and trust that God will provide.

My love and Christ's Peace to you and your families.

KC and Wolseley,

You've both been in my prayers since the first day you notified us of your prayer need. Wols, I remeberit was because you said your wife was a full time student, and you were staying home with your son.   God is faithful.

I was out of work for eleven months. And like you those first several months I didn't know what to pray; and that was the problem I started praying for just wisdom, rather talking to him about how I felt and help with the pressure and stress. Eventually after I developed a dialog/relationship on the subject, then I asked for concrete milestones.

Instead of asking God to get, or find you a job this week; ask for a contact, an interview, patience while I waited, success in finding some leads this week, progress or movement of any kind, etc.

With the extra time my hands, I found the best time to pray about my job situation was at lunch. I took my lunch to the park every few days. I ask God for some "postive movement" during the week, and pray that this meal would raise my spirits.

Also learn to "connect the dots", see God's movements, how ever so small they be.

I had the greatest job interview, one that was perfect, out of 10 people I made the final two. I was obviously the one; this was it the Lord had found and lead me to the a great position. It works!

But they were stuck on who; it was so close they could have flip a coin. Unfortunatley I lost the toss.

I contected so well with the CFO, that he hooked me up with a contact of his which lead to another interview with another company, which in turn resulted in me finding a job. A position which was better than that perfect job I thought is missed out on.

In fact each time during the 11 months, each job prospect that I thought I missed out on wasn't as good as the next.
