  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My son has a viral thing which gives him bad cold-like symptoms and no appetite. This is just a tiny little thing, and the doctor says he will be fine. But still, I am so consumed with his discomfort and suffering! I wish I could just take his illness on myself and have him be fine. I feel this way every time he gets some little bug, and was in a total anxiety attack the time we had to take him to the ER for a high fever.

Doesn't it feel awful to have a child suffering with any kind of illness?

I know how you feel, I freak and worry everytime my 4 year old gets sick. ANd believe me he gets sick alot. He's had 24 ear infections since birth. And had tubes put in once already. They do get better with a little love and tenderness.

It does feel awful, they just look sooo sad:( My daughter used to get sick a lot--ear infections and later tummy troubles (she reacted to streas by getting nauseous and vomiting:x). Thankfully she's grown out of that.

Prayers for Matthew! Hope he's back to his normal self soon.

I know how you feel..watching them suffer and feeling awful. That just tears me up. All of the sudden nothing else seems to much matter, and all you do is gather them to you like a hen gathering her chicks to her. A mother always seems to get extra energy from somewhere when her child is sick..at least I do.

Exactly!

I have been up and down all night with Matty and I don't feell worn out at all. He can't breathe well lying down so I hold him up. Every once of sleep he gets I count as a blessing!

I honestly don't know how parents of kids with serious medical problems do it. God must give them some major comfort! I feel for atheist parents of sick kids though. Talk about feeling helpless!
